Apple Watch vs Fitbit Blaze

I see where you are going with it. The original Apple Watch hardware was not refreshed for 17 months, so I hope we get a little more than 6 months from the AW S2 before they release a new one. 😎 (12-15 months this time?)
Much like the iPhone, the lifetime of a tech device is as long as you can still reasonably use it with software upgrades, etc. Since the wireless carriers do not offer $200 upgrades any longer, I am still using my iPhone 6+ (non-S) with IOS 10 and I do not see the Watch being any different. I may not replace my 1 year old Watch for another 6 months because I am in no hurry. When I do replace it, I will pass my Watch to a family member who does not have one.
I do not resell my old devices, so the inherent value of my "old" Watch has little bearing on buying a new one. If their are new features and I can justify the cost, I will buy a new one when the prices come down. I only paid $275 for my new 42mm Watch Sport at BB, so I will wait until a similar deal comes along before I pick up an S2 Nike version.

I wish I could remember when we started seeing the major retail discounts of the AWS0... Although Apple officially launched in April, they really did not catch up to the initial orders and stock stores until late July. So, the product hit its steady-state retail presence around then. And, if I remember correctly, we had major discounts hitting in November and December. So, that is 5 to 6 months from retail supply stability to retail discounts appearing.
Flash that to today... if Apple gets to a retail stability state in November, then we could see the same Target, BestBuy, and other retail sales in March or April. If we see the same ~$100 retail discounts, then that will knock used sales for a 42mm S2 to the $175-$200 range, like it did before. However, if Apple does not allow the retail discounts, then used prices might hold in the low $200 range for a while.
Personally, I do not plan to spend a dime on an S2 until I see what Apple does with pricing this go around. Last time, Apple dropped MSRP $50. Maybe they will not do that again, but maybe they will. And at the same time, they allowed retail partners to discount prices by $50 - $100 under MSRP. So, my target retail price for an AWS2 is $300. And, my target used price is $200.

I bought mine during the black Friday deals last year, so it was at the end of November. I do not see the same thing happening this year because of the relatively short time the S1/S2s have been around. However, we may be surprised on what the big box stores will do if they have a bunch of them left right before or after Christmas. I hope the Nikes are not too popular so the prices come down sooner... 😀
I have to be honest since using the Fitbit Blaze my Apple Watch (series O) has been made redundant.
Fitness tracking is much better on the Blaze. Apple watch has apps but they are so laggy and annoying to use i end up using my phone. I also prefer the physical buttons on the side (which seem more digital watch like) than the gimmicky scroll wheel. I predict the next apple watch will have this removed. I bet it costs a fortune to design and implement this.
I just miss Apple Pay. Nothing else!

Whereas I got rid of my Blaze and bought an AW and then an AW Nike+. Much better integration and use with the phone.
I would love a Nike+ one. It's still has the same limitations though. No sleep tracking, manually have to enter activity type, no one uses the Nike+ app. 2012 I added lots of friends to the Nike+ app and we used to compete which was great but now they don't use it and have migrated to Fitbit.
I always felt the Nike Fuelband could have been the Beats headphones for activity trackers! We only need a few sports guys and celebs to wear the Nike+ Apple Watch and it will make a come back again! I have my account ready for when it does 🙂
Hear you. Although I gave up the Blaze, I missed the Fitbit and tried all manner of things to get stuff up to their servers. Gave up in the end and bought a Flex 2, which I wear on the opposite wrist to my Nike+AW. Different thing for different things, or alternatively, covering all my bases 🙂
