British cyclist and former professional rugby player Will Carling has shared a pair of new photos on Twitter that appear to reveal two unreleased Apple products. The first photo shows a stainless steel Apple Watch with what looks like a custom red sport band, while the second photo provides a side-by-side look at an Apple charger with a unique folding plug design for use in the United Kingdom.

Carling claims that Apple design chief Jony Ive provided him with the folding charger, which could be the official charger for the Apple Watch in the United Kingdom, and it is likely that is who gifted him the Apple Watch with a custom red sport band as well. Ive grew up in England and is known to be a rugby fan, and Carling was the former captain of England's national rugby team from 1988 to 1996.

It is possible that the photo is actually of an Apple Watch with the similar looking pink sport band, although the lighting in the shot gives the band more of a red appearance and Carling mentions that he prefers "the red band" on Twitter. Apple has given a custom watch to at least one other iconic figure, with designer Karl Lagerfeld spotted wearing an Apple Watch with gold link bracelet earlier this week.

It is possible that Apple may eventually release a (PRODUCT)RED version of the Apple Watch by offering this custom red sport band for sale. Apple gives a portion of sales generated from (PRODUCT)RED merchandise to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa, raising over $70 million towards the initiative to date. Apple's current (PRODUCT)RED lineup includes iPods, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus cases, and iPad Smart Cases and Covers.

As the spoiled brat daughter of a friend says, I am gonna have THAT!

Not sure of the point of the folding charger...lets face it, it's not going to get unplugged much is it?

why not? i always have a couple of chargers in my backpack. (phone and laptop).. and i use them a lot..
the more portable the better.. looks like the plug in this thread can comfortably go in a pocket.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to imply you did say he invented them.

Apologies for confusion.

No worries.

The mu is a beautiful design from an ease of use point of view, its just one of those lovely devices. I need to get myself a 2amp version soon, the old one is getting less and less useful.

Apple, I would have bought red over black if you made it available. I bet the black Stainless Steel watch on red is going to look great!

CAn't wait to return my black strap and get red...hoping this comes available soon.

Pronounced Johnny, spelled Jony.

He's a designer. He likes to be different.

By the way, I want red. Red sport and red leather. Come on, Apple.

Steve was missing the excellence of the British plug: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEfP1OKKz_Q

Also, rare that two of my favourite things, rugby and Apple are so closely related.

Damn your eyes, I jumped in here to post that and noticed you got there first.

As much as they're a pain in the ass for travel, I wouldn't change the British plug for any other. I'm all in favour of these new folding versions though :)

I never understood the reason behind so many different sizes of plugs. But again I never understood so many TV standards (PAL / NTSC)

At the time these things were developed, interoperability was far less of a priority than it is today. Few people were taking their lamps and stoves on vacation with them from the UK to Japan.

It is an excellent design electrically and mechanically. Just painful to step on and a pain in the rear to carry about.

British cyclist and former professional rugby player Will Carling

Why the mention he's a cyclist? He's not a competitive cyclist, or cycled for a professional team. He's a retired Rugby player (and a good one at that!). He's still thought of as one of England (and Harlequins) great Centres, but you could just as easily talk of him as the "British beer drinker" as cyclist.

No!

His name is Jonny (rhymes with Bonnie-as in Bonnie & Clyde!)

Dude, note the last paragraph on Apple's bio of Ive:

haha.. really?
it's always been in my head as joe-knee..
this is one of those things that's nearly impossible to un-learn :)

I hear you. I still struggle to call Steve Jobs "Jahbs" instead of "Jobes" like the Bible pronunciation. NO idea why I always saw it that way...

It's hard to see in the small picture but there is some sort of logo on the red band that you can see when looking at the full size picture... I wonder if it's the product red logo or something.

It looks to be the size of the band. It seems he has that piece on inside out, as the size is displayed on the inside of the band.
