Apple Weather App Data Not Loading for Many Users [Updated]

It’s a server side issue, not an iOS issue.
I don't trust what the widget says anymore, I have to manually open the app for it to update for an accurate temperature. Junk.
So is it affecting people not on iOS 16.4? It's not working on my phone and iPad both on 16.4. The latest watch update has a few bugs as well that I've noticed, complications that won't show and stuttering watch faces.

I started experiencing this problem late last week. It didn't occur to me at the time that it could have been due to iOS 16.4 as I upgraded 6 days ago.
So two iOS 16.4 issues for me: weather app sometimes not loading and huge battery drain issue. Should have stayed on stable iOS 15.7.1
Timmy forgot it was the Development and Preservation Team that took care of the weather data.
Seems to be intermittent - happened first thing this morning but OK now - the other problem I have is that the weather map is frequently incomplete - some squares filled and some not - never had either of these problems with Dark Sky
I'm in Switzerland and it was happening to me and a friend the whole of last weekend.

Apple is currently experiencing issues with its weather data provider, leaving many users unable to see live weather forecasts for selected regions in the Weather app.
The issue appears to be affecting many users across the globe, with Weather apps on several Apple platforms impacted, including iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and macOS.
Apple is currently trying to resolve an issue with its Weather service, according to its System Status webpage, although the issue summary only lists next-hour precipitation as unavailable for Alaska "due to a data provider outage," when in fact numerous regions and forecast types are down.
Apple says the issue affecting "some users" began some five hours ago as of writing and is "ongoing," although some iPhone users are reporting that they have had intermittent issues with Weather apps since the iOS 16.4 update was released a week ago. We'll update this story when the problem is reported as resolved.

I thought it was just me. I rely on the app so much that I couldn't be bothered to look up another way to find out the weather. Ended up overdressing.
Yeah their statement is flat out false.

I hate the current incarnation of this weather app for very many reasons. The failure or slowness to update data (which has been going on for some time) is just one of them. If Apple provides these apps as defaults they should at least make sure they work reliably.
I’ve experienced several outages before 16.4. Between that and the inaccurate forecasts (saying it’s raining around me yet not a cloud in the sky, or saying it’s sunny and a storm is on the horizon), I moved to CARROT.
In my experience the weather app shows a wider variety of information since the Dark Sky acquisition but it’s frequently incorrect or slow to load. The widget and the app often show information from hours or even days ago.

I assume this is related to the performance issues at cloudflare as they’re having issues in the USA at the moment where I assume the servers are hosted.
The cloudflare status page shows it’s maintenance so if apple do use cloudflare hopefully it’ll be up soon once CF issues are resolved.

Yep, been a few days here as well. Started with the widget. The app will usually load eventually, but it's super slow, and not always reliable, especially for some of my further-from-home locations.
started noticing it on Sunday. affects homepod too, takes siri super long to respond with weather. europe here
I don’t think this is about it being slow it’s about it being broken entirely and no weather at all.
