The white phone has that grill at the top that is absent in the black iPhone.

Plus they wannt all the losers to get the black and the V.I.P's to get White.

The White iPhone 4's photograph really well, but I would imagine it would look a bit yellow-ish under most indoor lighting (tungsten and / or fluorescent) conditions.. A friend of mine has a white HTC hero, it always looks dirty indoors.

Great. So by the time my PRE-ordered (pre-rdered June 16) black iPhone 4 gets here, there will be a white one that looks way cooler. Laaaaaame.

Of course the black one is more popular, it's the only one people can order.

It would not be irresponsible to assume that the black model will be much more popular than the white, extrapolating from data of previous black/white iPhones. You could also take into account that this thread, somehow, isn't populated by MacRumors members ranting about how Apple's colossal screwup in not releasing them simultaneously will drive them to slit their wrists. More people are more than happy to buy the black model.

Actually, the assumption that having around $300 free = room to pleasantly buy a new iPhone is what is financially irresponsible. It is possible to have tens of thousands of dollars saved up and conclude, reasonably, that $300 for a new phone isn't sufficiently warranted.

Call it like you see it. HTC doesn't produce devices of anywhere near the aesthetic quality of those produced by Apple—especially so with the iPhone 4. And I think it is reasonable to conclude that it takes more class to make white look good than it does the more electronic-neutral unrevealing and unassuming black.

If you spend 300 dollars on every gadget every year, you easily end up bankrupt!

And compared to a 3GS, there isn't that much of a evolution that's worth to upgrade... If you buy a 2 year contract, you normally wait 2 years until you get hooked again, don't you?

Yeah, that's likely true but the white iPhones are only going to be as "white" as the lighting allows.. The black is just... black.
