Lame. I wanted a white iPhone since day one, and the white backs of the 3G/3GS weren't cutting it.
But alas - I'm skipping the iPhone 4 because I have a 3GS and I'm not made of money.
All you really have to do is sell your 3GS and walah. You magically have $$ for the iPhone 4!!!

Hehe. Don't worry, those thieves can spot an iPhone just as well if it were black as they could if it is white. If someone's worried about them the best place to start is replacing the Apple headphones with something less iconic.
Fair assessment. At least half the people I ride the train with every day will likely already have theirs by the time I get my white one anyway.

I want to commend you for that response. I was going to reply but I don't want to bump heads with anyone.
However, one should never assume. I know people who are smart, but not tech savvy. I know others who are wealthy, but too cheap to get a hotel room and always wanna stay with me
There are people who flash things they cannot afford, and there are those who have houses in the Hamptons and drive a hooptie.
But there are also those hit by this recession or another ill fortune, and their finances shouldn't be ridiculed. I respect a person who says that they cannot afford something. That's humble and may make another person think a bit before spending.

If you want to go even bolder my parents have a blue Magnavox dvd player in the cabinet under their tv. It looks absolutely ridiculous on top of their black cable box, but if you are interested I can see if they want to sell it.
First, the black Macbook was the best looking laptop apple has had since the Pismo, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. Second, the black Macbook was the low cost road to looking professional as a Mac user in an office. Third, the black Macbook only looks like laptops from other companies if you suffer form cataracts.

I am so glad I decided to wait for the white. While it is so unlike me to be patient when it comes to these things, the iPhone is something I use all day every day. And if I would've jumped the gun, as soon as the white was released I would've been regretting me decision massively.
My original 3GS was white and I loved it. It was until it was stolen that I had to convince myself that I liked black (couldn't afford another white outright). It's strange too because black is my favorite color. I like black for everything else. Cars, cloths, furniture, etc. But when it comes to the almighty iPhone, white wins out hard.
White = clean, sophisticated, futuristic/modern, powerful, indivdualality, etc.
To all that prefer black, damn I wish I was you! To those that are Waiting it out for a white, we are alllllmost there just hold on tight. And to those that jumped the gun... I'm sorry. You'll love your decision up until people are walking around with white Iphones.

I didn't like the look of the white iPhone until I saw the pictures of the white one with all of the different bumpers on it, I think it looks pretty slick with a bumper on it, much more so than the black looks with a bumper. Just the same, my White 3G looks like crap after two years.
