Thats 300.00 for a luxury item. Some people have plenty of money saved up for emergencies but don't want to dip into it for a luxury item like an iphone. It doesn't mean they are broke, it just means they have their priorities together

Cheap toy for kids?? As a home theater and all things Apple geek, you're off on this one. I know it's not just me. I'm soooo tired of every single piece of electronic equipment being thoughtless, black. TV's, receivers. laptops, phones, etc.

I don't know about you, but I want to stand out in the crowd. Enjoy your "blackbook", that looks like 95% of all Windows crap.

Remember the "Think Different" campaign? You instantly know it's an iPhone when it's white. The black one's look like every other BlackBerry, HTC, and Windows smart phone out there. Blending in is for mindless zombie followers. I'm sticking with different, different is good.

Besides... By then, those of us who patiently waited, the jailbreaking will be solid on iPhone 4... AND NO LINES!!!!!!!!

At least with Blackberry's there are lots or models or that samething within Andriod phones, lots of models, you are less likely to see someone with a Droid then an iPhone.

And how would the colour make a difference?
They can still only make the same number of phones, black or white.
Making 100% black, or 50% black / 50% white, or 90% black / 10% white, it is still the same number of phones made and available to sell.

They don't want to bother clogging a limited advance production run with phones that don't sell. So - no white for you. They did start building these things before they started taking reservations, you knew that right?

You might be able to afford a new iPhone every month, but not everybody can. Believe it or not, some people live month-by-month on a strict budget, taking a long time to save up for luxuries like an iPhone.

I think you should stop even talking about phones and start talking about food if you can't spend 300 a year on a cellphone. Your phone bill alone is going to be about 1/5 the price of the phone every month so you may need to focus on shoes and rent instead.

And pawn that computer and turn off your internet connection (unless you're leeching free wifi) and get those food-stamp cards buddy. Time's a-wastin'.

I didn't like the look of the white iPhone until I saw the pictures of the white one with all of the different bumpers on it, I think it looks pretty slick with a bumper on it, much more so than the black looks with a bumper. Just the same, my White 3G looks like crap after two years.

Your white 3G is not made of glass with the pigment layer sealed from the elements...

In fact, I will go to bed fairly late tonight, and enjoy sleeping in. I will then wake up with my new iPhone at my door a few hours later. No lines for me!

But actually, What you just said is the epitome of an Apple fanboy. It's ok, I mean some people enjoy being fanboys, but in case you haven't realized, it took Apple 4 GENERATIONS of the iPhone to allow WALLPAPER SWITCHING (a feature which can even be done in every version of Windows, super old versions of Linux using GUI, and pretty much every other OS of the last decade). Every single one of Apple's laptops look exactly the same, and if anything, define conformity.

I'm not bashing Apple, Microsoft, or Linux. I happily own a MacBook Pro, use all three operating systems on multiple devices, and enjoy them all equally. I'm just sick and tired of hearing Apple fanboys say "Think Different", because that was a campaign that (at the time) WAS actually different. Now, it's more like, "Think Apple."

Anyway, as if the "fanboy" comeback is any more creative than "Think Different" But, if that makes the clock tick for you, works for me. If you were going for the "offend this guy with fanboy dagger"... fail. I proudly accept your fanboy flag. Seeing how Apple has helped propel me to a 4 bedroom house 2 miles from the beach, a custom built home theater room and career I love, (all by 27 yrs old) let the fanboy flag wave. I'm a videographer and editor and would never trust my livelihood to any hardware but Apple. (none of which is a boring, just like everybody else's black box, thank goodness. See that's how you stay on topic!!)

Well enjoy sleeping in, enjoy waiting for the jailbreak and enjoy your just like everyone else... black box. I will enjoy my "cheap toy" and we will both live happily ever after.

This is great news. It means we get White the same time as all the current orders that are being taken for Black - in only 3 weeks from now. Whoopie!

If you think about it, Apple's site for black phones is "ships by Jul 14th", which is mid-July. They seem to line up pretty well, perhaps that's when the next big shipment comes in.
