Not necessarily. Jim's strong track record suggests that he has contacts inside Apple who pass information to him, knowing that it will be publicized. He may know more, but he doesn't do anything but confirm or deny rumors about events and products in the near term. I'm sure that if this weren't tacitly approved at the highest levels it would have ended long ago.

Thank god we aren't getting another 8GB iPhone. 8GB in this era is nothing but a waste and quite laughable.

And it's a nightmare for the Genius Bar as there is constantly a line of people who have no clue how to manage their space who have phones, iPads and iPods that are stuffed full of apps, pics, video & music and are confused as to why their device won't update, save new media or even start up in some cases.

Say this was approved by Apple hypothetically speaking. Why even approve it? It only means a few days before the keynotes people know will and will not be at the keynotes. It removes some of the keynote suspense. I fail to see how him saying his cocky Yes or No 2 days before a keynote has any real purpose.

This late in the picture, we all might as well wait a few more days and see Apple speak about it all themselves. This would be different if he said his one word, weeks out from the keynote, but he does not.

It is very likely that this information is being intentionally leaked to friendly press in order to shut down rumors before they get out of hand. It helps prevent the press from writing hysterical "Apple Is Doomed" articles about false rumors when they don't come true. Apple doesn't want to make a statement, because that just leads to more questions and explanations, so they just leak yep/nope to reliable people and that kills it.

him saying his cocky Yes or No

I think this is the root of some people's upset about this issue. He's not saying yep/nope to be cocky. That's literally all the information he has and he's passing it on as-is. Saying anything more than this would invite further questions and explanations which he wouldn't have answers to, so why bother?

Even though some people can get along with 8GB phone, flash memory is so cheap that it's an insult that a "premium product" company like Apple would put in so little.

It's like BMW making a slightly cheaper version of a car with only a 3 gallon gas tank. It's stupid because the savings by removing gas tank capacity are miniscule, if any at all.

He should hire these two.

Probably a fake

Let see, this is the Apple post 3Bll$ Beats buy, at this point, if Cook announces he is an alien I'll not be surprised.

The good for Apple to early announce the iPhone 6, is to take down on the recent Android launches and catch again eye popping before the people get in love with Samsung or HTC (no way the iPhone 6 to be available next Tuesday, on Monday Apple will preview it (just as they did with the Mac Pro not selling until years end), anyway to me make sense Apple to preview the iPhone 6 on Monday, announcing it's new features, but to be released later this year.

This makes sense. Apple want people to think X rumour is true or not based on this. The difference is they'd know it for certain if Apple said it. Those who know Apple well enough, like most of us here, know to have an open mind and be ready for anything when watching the keynotes.

I guess this is probably done for Wall Street so they don't react too badly when their wild wants for the keynote are not fulfilled. Jim's words calm them down somewhat so the market does not react too badly after the keynotes.

If I was him I'd not say these one words at all. I think just let the keynote a few days later speak for itself. More suspense this way. But if Apple is hypothetically feeding him information, they are obviously feeding him for a reason.

The Apple is doomed articles come whether he says his one words or not. The funny thing is everyone who knows what one words he says aren't the ones who cry Apple is doomed the loudest. Those one who cry most likely don't even know who Jim is.

Jim can't really win here. If he says what he does in more then oner word, some people will misinterpret it and react badly. But if he says no, it's impossible to misinterpret but it sounds really self righteous and uppity. He chooses the lesser of two evils. And in his situation (if I was forced to make these kind of statements against my own will) I'd probably say the one word too. Sure I'd sound uppity but I'd not have what I said misinterpreted.
