You people get less hardware for more money and you also want it to have a good user experience and no bugs? You are insatiable. Poor Apple.

My 849 euros iPhone 6s has been virtually useless now for 6 days, how about that.

I'm in the same position. It's clear to me Apple no longer truly appreciates its customers and it's no longer capable of delivering reliable products.

The communication on this has been awful. Typical wall of silence, but more than that, it shows contempt for the customer.

Give Apple some credit. It takes time to perfect code, and its not always easy to write in the first place.

Yes, they should have kept it in beta longer or worked on it more exclusively, but thats another story.
And yes, these things can appear after release rather than in the beta process.

This is far beyond perfecting code. This is a major problem. I can't even use Safari on my iPhone right now... everything i try to do just freezes it... i can't click on any links. That makes internet use mostly inoperable for me. That's not a minor issue.

I have the following major problems with software right now:

1) Safari on my iPhone is not working.
2) Half of the Numbers spreadsheets i try to open that are located in the cloud will not open on my desktop, but will open on my iDevices
3) Some of my notes with links will open on my desktop, but not on my iDevices.

Disappointing. None of these have been trivial for me.

You bought another phone because of a bug? That seems rather extreme unless internet access on your phone is paramount to your job!

Comments from the company are a wall of silence?

You are complaining for lack of communication on a thread where Apple have just stated they are aware and looking for fix? Anyone feel the irony here lol?

Of course I need to continuously access to a lot of links from mail and 3rd party apps and it's impossible. It's as I said basically useless. Bought a s7 edge. Too big and strange OS to me but superb hardware.

Ok I see your point, but an S7! You could have bought a cheap Nokia or something to tide you over for a week! Will you buy an iPhone if Samsung breaks something pertinent to you?

It can be.

A delayed one sentence comment from an anonymous PR source doesn't cut it. Tim and Craig need to be out front with this and publicly state on Twitter that they understand the impact it has had on affected customers and how they plan to make changes so it doesn't happen again.

What "cuts" it is an actual fix being released with details about it. A parroting of a statement that has already been made in some sort of more personalized or official way won't change what's actually happening at the moment. Given that Apple has acknowledged the issue and said they are working on it and said they want to have a fix out soon is certainly far from any type of wall of silence.

"Soon". Going on 6 days unless it's released today...

There needs to be a public acknowledgment. Tim/Craig owes it to the customers and shareholders, unless that no longer matters.

So basically we are just talking about optics rather than anything practical.

It's not optics. Tim/Craig need to publicly explain how/why this happened and how they plan to overhaul Apple's QA process so it doesn't happen again. Tone/Policy changes start from the top down, not by an anonymous voice in the PR Shop. Unless we're satisfied with the status quo...

the iOS 8.0.1 update that broke cellular connection was fixed 1 day later after release with iOS 8.0.2

apparently this is a harder thing to fix.

Yeah, that was essentially a packaging/release problem (that was also somewhat worse with larger effect), while this seems to within iOS itself and possibly fairly engrained into it. Still, hopefully they'll get a fix for it out soon.

Sure, once they actually fix the problem first. (Not that a statement like that will necessrily result in much and/or even its implementation prevent all of these types of issues in the future.)

6 days without my iPhone 6 or iPad, typing this on my 2008 macbook, checking here everday waiting for an announcement saying its fixed and there's an update out. I think someone at apple needs a boot up the backside over this, I remember an episode of the simpsons where Bart had to goto Australia and he was going to be kicked up the backside with an enormous shoe. Well.. I'm thinking at the next keynote can we have the person responsible for this brought out on stage for a public booting ;)

Seems like it, but we pay good money for the "best"... I didn't get my iOS device for free.

Apple's dodgy software is even affecting me, and I don't have a Apple products apart from a Mac.

(or at least I'm going to assume this is Apple's fault given the recent problems)

Yup. I'm in the same situation. Here we are. Mid-Afternoon ET and still no update. I'll be surprised if it comes today.

Wouldn't Apple need to release or do something rather than Sonos in that case?

Just a tip as we all wait impatiently for Apple to fix our devices:

If you follow @iOSReleases on Twitter and enable notifications, you'll get notified immediately when a software update is released.

Might not have been found there either even with a longer beta. Some things just surface when they surface. Most people don't realize that about software or don't want to believe it, but that's the reality.
Yes because this is something you won't visually notice off the bat. It could take millions of users until it gets noticed. With the recent Instagram update the logout button completely fell of the face of the earth and they still haven't put it back. You cannot logout unless you delete the app etc. But still people give Instagram credit and say "oh well bugs happen". haha

Give credit? And bugs do happen, nothing new or surprising there.
