All this talk about reachability bugs but I just want to know how you use reachability on the iPhone X?
I haven't seen any videos or mentions of it yet.
Do you double tap that bar at the bottom or is the feature just gone?

I was just wondering since I have been using the feature since it was introduced and now the iPhone X has an even bigger screen but it looks like reachability is gone!

You won’t? Considering it’s been designed so you pull down from the left for one screen and from the right for another, I doubt very much if the X will have rechability in its OS. I bet if it does they’ll put an artificial notch in the top of he picture!!

iOS 11 is one buggy mess, on my 6S the LOCK SCREEN was sticking in landscape orientation!!!!! And I’ve noticed when trying to highlight text it doesn’t work well and the cursor gets placed at random blanks places on the screen when using some text boxes on websites.
Along with the useless battery life...

I noticed today that reachabity by double tapping home isn’t working at all anymore period. I that the bug? Extremely annoying on a plus device.

Same problem. Reachability does not work on my iPhone 8 at all.

Have you tried rebooting your iPhone? I've had the exact same issue when I installed iOS 11.1 beta 2 yesterday, and rebooting my device fixed the issue. As well as some other things that made it feel like it was iOS 11.0 beta 1. :p

OT: Good that Apple is on this, because this is the biggest and probably only shortcoming of reachability in iOS 11 right now. Especially now that I have an iPhone 8 Plus, whereas I previously owned an iPhone 7.

Apple released iOS 11 way too early. More would have adopted it on rollout if they waited until November.
Problem is they try to tie it to iPhone releases so when someone buys an iPhone it looks and behaves "new".

Even then they screw it up; in the UK Apple is running TV adverts for the iPhone 8+'s portrait lighting mode with a disclaimer saying it's a beta feature. Cheers Apple; I give you money for a brand new phone, you give me unfinished software!

I reckon this bug happened because the iPhone X won’t have reachability and they’ve been so focused on delivering iOS for it that the older models were overlooked. Most of the bugs in iOS 11 seem to be iPhone related, I think this year they put so much focus on updating iOS for the iPad and building the new interfaces for the iPhone X that the phone release was given a bit less attention than it needed.

Insanely great - running a tablet on the phone OS (...)

It seems that every year the iOS gets buggier at launch. Which means they have to spend more and more time with bug fixes. Which means less and less time to work on the next release.

I reckon it’s gonna take til spring until iOS 11 is fully baked. Which means just half a year to make iOS 12. Which means it’s gonna be even more buggy.

Apple just go ahead and release a signed version of iOS 10.4.0 and allow the bulk of users with buyers remorse with iOS 11 return to iOS 10 until the bugs are worked in November or December.
Exactly!! I love the features of iOS 11 but I have no problem waiting another month or two to get problems ironed out. These sloppy releases gives users a very sour taste.

I’m never updating to .0 releases ever again. Screw this, I can’t believe Apple allows this to happen. What in the world happened to the quality control department?!

Thankfully iOS 10 is where my devices have stopped as 11 breaks too many of my legacy apps. I have over 43, many of which I do still use frequently.

Glad to see this and 3D press multitasking is coming back. Maybe the ugly duckling that is iOS 11 can turn into a swan eventually.

It feels worse because it is the .0 release that you are comparing with the .3 or .4 releases. iOS 8 took until at least .3 to work out all of its bugs (some weren’t fixed until iOS 9) and some iOS 9 wasn’t really a champ when it was released either. Remember that WiFi problem where the WiFi would disconnect every 20 mins or so? All things considered, I would say that Apple is actually improving its software QA for the past 2 versions.

That's quite funny how many people says that iOS is superior to Android, while you can use Android 5.0, 6.0, 7.0 without any visible bugs (maybe there are some, hidden deep in rarely used features, but nothing like you describe here for iOS, or like in the article). Looks like Google's QA team is way better after all, and Android is way more polished OS...

Also hope they fix these

Reported since first iOS 11 PB... iOS 11 is the worst release to date by Apple...

The worst thing is that they push notifications to everyone at day one. It's fine if they release it silently and then push notifications in 11.1. But now many people I know feel "betrayed" that Apple recommended them a buggy OS.

I love this idea. But just for semantic accuracy, lets call it upgraders remorse, since they of course didnt buy anything.

Good Apple. This is a bit annoying. 3Dtouch for app switcher wasn’t something I used often but good that they add that back to!

I’m excited about WWDC18. Will most likely be the iPhones year. Alot of changes for iOS 12 and the phones based on the reception of iOS 11 and iPhone X, is my prediction.
