Doesn't seem like they tested iOS 11 properly. Many of these issues and bugs coming up are things that many many users would be utilising every day so how they weren't noticed or fixed before release is dumbfounding.

weirdly it seemed like we got more stable and bug free updates when we didn't have these long ass public betas

They will never do it, also it wont be the right thing, because only pro users will vote mostly
So all the wrong features will get picked up that normal users wont like or understand

Actually I’ve seen many cases where the proprietary and secret development is completely out of touch with reality, while open source and even proprietary software with some degree of public outreach fare much better in terms of features for the common man.

I'd be happy if they fixed the landscape lock that was taken away a few releases ago. It's a real pain to have to keep tilting the phone to get landscape back.

Seems like a really sloppy release, it seems to be getting worse each year since iOS 9.
Glad I didn't update to 10 or 11 on launch day (might not even update from 10.3.3 on my iPhone 7)

My phone has a lock screen message bug I hope they fix. All my notifications get encapsulated in a message box. It's pretty annoying.

Considering the mammoth size of the plus models...it’s a major and useful feature For people who don’t have basketball player sized hands. This bug was one of my top 3 annoyances of iOS 11.

My hands are quite small. I'm able to easily shift my grip back and forth between holding it by the bottom right corner and the middle of the right side, no other hand required.

I suppose maybe some people are less capable of performing that maneuver?

Am I the only one who thinks of the iOS Dev library for checking if you're on Wifi or Cellular when I see "Reachability" in the title of an article on MacRumors? That's always the first thing I think of - never the accessibility feature available on the Plus models.

It feels like this release is worse that prior releases, and the prior releases were all worse than predecessors. Anyone detecting a pattern? :(

Glad I decided to not upgrade.
Makes you wonder why Apple forces a new release every year. Maybe should go every two years, or even year and a half.

I am re-imagining space ship building as a grand 5 star hotel sold to Marriott or Hyatt. Not sure where Apple is heading

I have this also in IOS10. Rub your thumb on start button and the screen will go down. Rub it again and its go's up.

There is a easy fix though. Just wait a bit, before you update. ;)
I always wait on my Mac, I actually stay one release behind because I need maximum stability in my workflow. I always wait until .1 release for my primary mobile devices too. But I do have older devices I tinker with.

Of course the best fix to release the OS when it’s actually ready for prime time.

So what we need is a ton of corporate customers to force Apple to keep providing security updates for iOS 10.

I do work in a corporate IT environment where we can't use MacOS 13 due to the high amount of incompatibility with licensed applications. So keep those security updates coming for Sierra!

The photo that goes along with this post is interesting. I've always found it strange and frustrating that iOS forces apps in the top left of the screen, rather than let you put your apps anywhere you want on the screen. This seems to be a lapse for Apple, which is otherwise pretty obsessed with aesthetic and functional abilities. People often use their phones with one hand. For a right handed person, the top left is the furthest part of the screen from their thumb. Look at a typical Android user and their apps will start from the bottom right to make them close to their thumb. Why won't Apple let its users decide for themselves where to place their apps?

The problems are frustrating but not nearly as bad as some of the Android Oreo bugs I have been supporting recently. Cellular data that stops working, wifi issues, phones locking up. Hasn’t been fun, and many of the devices are Nexus and Pixel phones.

I think Apple is doing better since they have switched to having Public beta programs. What sucks though, is that many people decide to complain on sites like this, as opposed to using the Feedback process designed into the OS to send to Apple.

I have iphone 6 plus and these are the issues i'm having with iOS 11:

1. The UI lag - omg i'll take a screenshot and it'll take like 3-4 secs to register, especially on snapchat
2. Battery - When i increase the brightness on my phone, battery % will go from 50% to like 5% in a few minutes. Its crazy!
3. imessage - opening apps take a long time already but also now when i start typing on imessage there's a lag before the first letter is recognized.

The battery issue was the biggest one because with auto wifi connection and brightness issue, i have to carry a charger with me at all times just in case. I hope they'll address these soon! Not to mention i lost a backup when i tried the ol' reset and set up as a new iphone now i lost all my purchases too.

I love Apple but man it's frustrating dealing with these issues. It seems minor i know, but when you've gotten used to such a superior stable iOS like iOS10, you really notice the little things when things don't work. I hope they address these when X come out for sure coz it'll suck having such a good phone but a terrible iOS experience.

Ok, I have a 6 Plus and I'm having battery issues, lag and LTE connectivity problems. Anyone else?

I just hope they have a Reachability option on the iPhone X, cause my thumb hasn't grown along phone sizes.
