Just get two, you peasant. Why this 27-inch format again...
Can't they do maybe a 21:9 ultrawide or something a bit different or at least bigger?

Some people, like me, are very sensitive to this. I can't stand 60hz displays anymore after being spoiled with my MacBook Pros and iPhone Pros. Why is everyone always going crazy over this 120 Hz thing? Unless you are gaming, what's the difference?
Dunno but seeing as how I still use the old school Thunderbolt Display from a gazillion years ago with my MacBook Pro M4 Max, I’m not sure it’s a valid concern? And would this augment or replace the current Studio Display - and at what price? And, if (a big if) it replaces the current ASD, can we expect to Apple to make the old model obsolete and incompatible with all Macs in a few years? I hate to be negative but these are real concerns.
if you really wanna know then simply enable low power mode on your iphone and try using that for anything for couple minutesWhy is everyone always going crazy over this 120 Hz thing? Unless you are gaming, what's the difference?
Apple is never going to release a 27" 4K screen -- it doesn't meet their Retina requirements. The average deep-pocketed consumer and/or business would love pretty, colorful, 27" inch 4K iMacs and 27" 4K companion displays. Put it at 120Hz and it's a good enough spec for nearly everyone.

This isn't rocket science. There's only so many buyers for a $1600 display and even fewer that will replace them.
That Apple is focused on their requirements is exactly the problem.Apple is never going to release a 27" 4K screen -- it doesn't meet their Retina requirements.
That 27” 4K monitor might be good for everything else, but will be really bad with a Mac.I could wait for this monitor, but… I’m pretty sure it will be a 5K monitor with no compatibility for other devices such a gaming console. And I want a good 27” 4K monitor for everything, not just a Mac.
What is so special for you about 120 hz?Any news on 120hz?
The reason why I dont pick Apple displays besides the cost is that they don't have 120hz.
If they could add 120hz, then all thats left that prevents me from buying an Apple display is price.
Jokes aside, I actually tried.Just get two, you peasant.

Apparently, Pros only need ProMotion if their displays are between 10 and 16 inches.Should be interesting to see how much they try to charge -- especially if still just 60hz (which it sounds like it will be)
Terrible with a Mac. A 27 inch 4K display is non-retina. Too used to it and can't go back. Would prefer to use a properly scaled 27 inch TB display. That 27” 4K monitor might be good for everything else, but will be really bad with a Mac.
Do yourself a favor, and get something 5K that's compatible with everything you have. Personally, I would pay twice as much for something from Apple, but for your needs, the new Asus 5K 27" monitor might be the best option.
When you've tried a ProMotion display, which is fancy word for "120 Hz", and you're used to scrolling using 120 Hz, I promise you, you won't want to go back. What is so special for you about 120 hz?
