Don't forget about his hideous car design

Oh my God, am I looking at the back end of the monstrosity or the front? Or is that the styrofoam packing material for his tacky camera?

So what does the screen/script writers union say? Because of that, I thought these "reality" shows were more a vast amount of directed improv performances that eventually gets highly edited down to fit a story line, said story line often made up after the fact. e.g. the "script" might be mostly something given to the editors well after the shoot, not to the meat-puppets.

It means that the shows are highly scripted. Which in turn means that they are not improvised even though there might not be a written script.

Still hoping Apple produced "Hot Pockets: The Series" aren't you?

Set in Alabama, so googling it would throw up some horrifying results!

I'm a simple man, all I require from TV is car chases, punch-ups and firefights. Possibly some gratuitous nudity from the (hot female) lead. Produce something like that and I'm in, Apple! :)

Let me guess the name: App for That

What's Appening (bringing back Roj, Dwayne and Rerun). Little sister Dee shoots one-line zingers at every non-Apple competitor like Samsung and Google

I guess when you have billions and billions you can afford to just throw money at projects to see what sticks.

Maybe, but it seems like there could easily be perhaps 10,000 better projects at which to throw some of that money. Even randomly selecting projects pitched on sites seeking some capital investment (like Kickstarter) would probably have more upside and/or general appeal.

Next thing you know, Apple could be distributing movies... Sony owns Columbia, so who knows...

Yes, but this will be a "show that is nothing".

I ain't saying it's gonna be a blockbuster. From the posts showing off Will.I.Am's creative "talent" and having heard a few Black Eye Peas songso_O, I'm leaning towards it flopping as well. BUT I'm just gonna withhold judgement until the finished product. Apple has a knack for finding the pearl in a dung heap (thank you, Aesop).

the only reason anybody even knows who Will.I.Am is (shouldn't it be "Sam I am"), is because he was in a band with a cute girl.

I'm looking forward to the show about how quickly Apple designs
and manufactures fast and well priced new computers, monitors and peripherals.

You've got me breaking out the popcorn, already!

Nothing I like more than science fiction.

It means that the shows are highly scripted. Which in turn means that they are not improvised even though there might not be a written script.

So is the trick is to make a regular scripted and produced show, but to get around various union rules by having the "writer"-directors not actually write down the desired dialog verbatim, and by using unknown (thus non-union?) actors (or actress-wanabe's) who can't memorize their lines from a written script ahead of time anyway, but can be prompted on set by the "writers", given enough retakes? So that means the cost of running the production crews for all the edited-out video must be less than paying real writers and actors? I didn't know the pay scale ratios were that different.

Give Apple credit. Ever since they became the world's richest company they have been trying to make the stock more affordable - Beats, now this!

I'm hoping this show is in the format of Jersey Shore or Party Down South.

All they need to do is swap the east coast/southern locations with somewhere in the Bay Area, find some unhinged software developers, give them a bad summer job and shower them in alcohol while pushing them into trendy and exclusive clubs. Very doable if you are Apple, I think. Plus with MTV on the slide...

They can also use the show to promote Beats radio and new songs by playing 30 seconds of it anytime the characters say something relevant to it.

A show about app developers might not be the next hit, but it's a plausible excuse for Apple to try producing their own show without the brand risk. They can learn the business without it being seen as Apples First TV Show, it's just an extension of their developer relations... for now.

Lol, that doesn't make him a tech visionary or effective developer of new tech. Everything he has touched in terms of technology has burned and crashed before it even touched consumer's hands.
"Everything", "burned and crashed"? Sounds like exaggeration to me.

How original . an tv show about apps and the App Store, available on the app store to watch...

Can't get better than this.

I can't imagine this being on iTunes........ Its got the App Store written all over it.

"Everything", "burned and crashed"? Sounds like exaggeration to me.

It is fact. None of the products he introduced have had any success. But maybe I missed something, so please provide me an example of something that did not crash and burn.

The mere fact that he partnered with the "brain" behind the horrible joojoo tablet shows that he has no idea what is doing. But please prove me wrong. I will be waiting here in anticipation.

Edit: hah, just went to his own website that references all his "products". Each and every one of them is a flop.

The band existed, and was quite good, before the cute girl came in.
They got way more commercial after that, that's for sure.

As this being good or not, let watch it before we judge it.

I'm expecting comments along the lines of will.iam sucks so does Dre and beats was a terrible purchase blah blah blah

I would rather made a short documentary on Apple TV itself especially the decision to label it a hobby which seemed bizarre to.

If not that I would be happy if they could negotiate a 4 episode special of Fraiser, you never get bored of Fraiser
