Still sounds dreadful. I thought that maybe they'd invent something better than BT. Does this do anything to alleviate the delay all Bluetooth devices have? Will it not have the weird shuffle bugs I've experienced with car BT syncing? Do they expect to drastically improve on that amazingly terrible 4-hour battery life mentioned in the article?

Perhaps Apple will impress us with a good product this fall, but so far there are zero rumors pointing to it.

Is this the bug where you interrupt playback by say, leaving the car, restoring the connection (returning to the car), and the music continuing from who-the-hell-knows?

These will come bundled with the next iPhone, a great selling point for the new device, and a turning point for the headphones market.

Sounds wonderful, but I doubt it.

I’ve been watching Bragi since their Kickstarter, but their price, bugs, and Apple’s rumored earpods have kept me from purchasing. If Apple’s are less than $200, I’m buying.

IF ONLY APPLE WOULD RELEASE THEM.

Anything is better than a 3.5 jack.
Get rid of those damn things already. The sooner we get away from wired old technology the sooner improvements will come.
The past belongs in the past.
agreed. right now i still think wireless tech is severely lacking BUT completely removing the Jack will bolster companies to seriously set the time aside to fix the issues with current wireless.

i mean at the moment there is not much of a motivation to do so because well, wired headphones are still a huge market,
but if smartphones, one of the biggest users of headphones in our day to day lives remove it, then companies will be somewhat forced to improve the quality of their wireless to compete with companies that already have a big foot in the wireless world (IE: beats, skull candy, bose,, though lacking in quality, already have the basis to go far with wireless)

just like with the floppy and many other things in the past, sometimes to move on, you just have to cut the cord.

Plus i love everyone here talking about the 3.5mm jack still being compatible, top of the line and not needing to be removed or replaced. true it doesnt NEED too. but apple has always been big on trying to push the industry into new directions. and if we always cling to the 3.5mm jack it will never change. yea its been good for 25 years, but what about 25 years form now?
but neither did the floppy. tech companies could have kept both the CD and the Floppy drives.
Apple could have even kept the CD drives on macs, they didnt need to remove it. but they did and because of it and many other companies taking similar actions, there has been a huge improvement in the Technology these past

But I gotta say, I love the name AirPod and am probably going to buy them by Christmas if they'll be compatible with the 6.

For now I use these 30$ Skullcandy, they work yes, but even if I move my head around just a little bit, connection gets dropped or you'll get a beep or two for a second and then reconnect. But for the price, I guess they're alright for now.

I just hope Apple's AirPods won't be too expensive.

Oh they will be backwards compatible with the 6, and BT 4. The 6 just won't likely be able to be able to take advantage of the BT 5, or other low power BT Apple is rumored to have developed here, nor likely the higher quality audio.

Shocker!

I wish, but I have a feeling they'll just include an adapter with traditional headphones and these wireless earbuds will be sold separately.

But, if they solved all the BT issues with pairing, sound quality and audio drop outs, I'm definitely picking up a pair on day one along with the new iPhone.

We already have Bluetooth headphones but sometimes you need a wired jack because I find my BT headsets are always not charged at the worst possible times.

Bluetooth rarely drops... sound quality is pretty good with AptX codec.

I don't think so. I'm talking about the bug where my iPhone refuses to stay on 'shuffle' mode and reverts back to alphabetical play order when connected to Bluetooth. It's lasted for 3 iPhones now so I know it's not a hardware problem.

Although possibly it's the same thing we're describing in different ways.

3.5mm/Lightning wired headphones are still ridiculously cheap to manufacture, but it would certainly help ease the transition and quiet the complainers.

Although the Apple Pencil's solution to charging is hardly elegant, I find it to be amazingly convenient.

Hopefully, Apple earbuds are similar to the Jaybird X2 but with the ability to plug into an iPhone or iPad for a quick charge (15 seconds for 30 min use). That would be great

Maybe different bug lol. When I restore the connection I may get lucky and the previous song continues or the first song on the first playlist starts playing. No rhyme or reason why it behaves likes this.

Right now it looks like there are almost no features that we know of on the iPhone 7 that mark any sort of real advance over the 6S models. These AirPods would be a great selling feature if included but they don't really differentiate the iPhone 7. One could buy these and pair them with any iPhone or smartphone though Apple may tie them to iOS for certain features. Apple would have to sell these for $199 or more and would not offer the iPhone 7 at the 6S pricing with them included. They're simply not going to give up that kind of profit. The iPhone 7 needs another feature or features that really give people a reason to upgrade. And I don't expect Apple will have these ready next month. Likely a 7S item, even with the timing of the 7 jack removal being the perfect time to introduce.

As far as The Dash, I got a pair last month and like them. Not the greatest battery life. Some nice features. Pretty good first generation bleeding edge product. Better than the VerveOnes from what I have seen.
