Can somebody post official educational-discounted prices for the new Macs, vs. the full prices, AND compare this to the previous prices?

I got the old AppleCare from Adorama a couple months ago during the rebate sale and still haven't applied it yet.
If there is no discount on Education pricing then I might as well just keep it.

You could purchase it in Canada and apply AppleCare+ on the device online by providing a US billing address after completing the diagnosis process to verify no physical damage has occurred on the device. I’ve used that technique with AppleCare+ on iPhones before.
Does that really work? Will a Canadian Apple Store replace an accidentally damaged Mac even though they don't sell AppleCare+?

Probably not right this moment but
1. Normally AppleCare+ on devices (case being iPhones and iPads) finds itself into Canada soon after the US launch
2. AppleCare+ replacements expand to other countries

Unless you're assuming you might be breaking your shiny new Macbook Pro in the next couple of weeks (not that we can ever know when an accident might befall us) but taking into account that the lifespan of the warranty is 3 years, AppleCare+ on Macs will definitely be expanded to Canada. Since you can only add AppleCare+ within 60 days, it kinda only makes sense to add it on assuming you're going to be purchasing a new Mac.

Does anyone know if the old boxed AppleCare will work one a 2017 Macbook Pro with touchbar? I see they can be found with a discount and I don't want to pay for the accidental damage cover as it doesn't seem to be valid internationally.

Has AppleCare+ for Mac expanded beyond the United States and Japan yet?

Just spent way too much time explaining to an Apple phone rep that Macs are eligible for AppleCare up to one year past the sale date; he was adamant it was only 60 days. Plus.. Plus is not even available outside of the US and Japan, so, that was not the most useful conversation.

At least his supervisor was versed in selling AppleCare with the education discount (I qualify).

I too purchased AppleCare with my 2016 MBP. Won't be happy if it turns out we aren't covered/can't upgrade to accidental damage cover.
Same here! It’s absolute bullsh*t that they changed the policy a year after we bought our computers. Just another way Apple tajes more of your money.
