So in short, it doesn't hurt to walk up to an Apple Store to get AppleCare+. There's a chance you'll get denied, but I was able to get it.
Did you bring your MacBook Pro into the Apple Store for inspection?

Incorrect. AppleCare is within a year. AppleCare+ is 60 days. Says right under AppleCare+ for Macs.
Does that really work? Will a Canadian Apple Store replace an accidentally damaged Mac even though they don't sell AppleCare+?You could purchase it in Canada and apply AppleCare+ on the device online by providing a US billing address after completing the diagnosis process to verify no physical damage has occurred on the device. I’ve used that technique with AppleCare+ on iPhones before.

Same here! It’s absolute bullsh*t that they changed the policy a year after we bought our computers. Just another way Apple tajes more of your money.I too purchased AppleCare with my 2016 MBP. Won't be happy if it turns out we aren't covered/can't upgrade to accidental damage cover.
