Yes there is, it is BTO just like the other M1 MacsStill kinda bizarre that there's no 16GB option when some of the other M1 offerings have it.

M1 CPU is too slow for a desktop, any Intel or AMD Desktop CPU is faster than this. It sohuld have come with an M1x with 50% faster performance at least.
I had the same thought, but... when I looked at the M1 MacBook and Air, they don't show 16GB on the main page - it only shows as an option when you click through. So... maybe it will be there when fully active?Still kinda bizarre that there's no 16GB option when some of the other M1 offerings have it.
Electronics, being the key word here. Now that they're essentially the same on the inside, it's only a matter of time before someone figures out a way to boot macOS on an iPad. I'm sure there's some plan to allow this (officially) eventually, like Boot Camp but for macOS - then you just hook up and keyboard and mouse, and you've got a cheap Mac for $799.MacOS.
I’ll make a bet right now that the larger iMac will come in darker/muted colors with black bezel and maybe no chin. And they might bring back the iMac Pro name. With all our screaming at Apple to reduce the bezels, we forgot to tell them to keep them black. Here’s hoping the bigger iMac will come in space grey with black bezels. Otherwise I’ll wait for the updated 16” MBP.
I hate these pastel colors.
I’m curious what their thought process was around certain colors being more expensive. Those colors are more popular? Harder to produce?Pretty much, its like tech enthusiasts want everything to be made to please them, not for people who will actually use this.
These will sell to the masses. They know what their customers want, they base their design decisions on surveys and customer feedback. This is what the masses want. I for one am not going to get one but I will get this for my inlaws and I know they will absolutely love it.
And there’s still no vertical adjustment. Really not much of a redesign. Just a new paint job.Let's recap.
Power brick needed. (What!?!)
White bezels on all models.
A chin still.
No ethernet or USB-A ports on the base model.
8 GB across the board. User still can't replace manually.
An absolute joke.
These are just terrible. Why push for thinness. We would much rather have a thicker form that allows the logic board to sit behind the screen, lose the chin, integrate the power supply.
I just hope they fix this mess for the 27inch iMac Pro or whatever they end up calling it
This has to be satire. It has to be.$1,299 for an M1 iMac with a small 24 inch monitor and meagre 256GB storage. No, thank you. I'll pass.
Funny.M1 CPU is too slow for a desktop, any Intel or AMD Desktop CPU is faster than this. It sohuld have come with an M1x with 50% faster performance at least.
Seems these are clearly NOT targeted to professionals. They’re for families or people who don’t need the most powerful machine but want some fun colors in their tech.I don't mind the colours, but who ever thought that the light edging around the screen was a good idea? Black is a better border colour around a screen for colour accuracy.
Definitely style over substance.
Still kinda bizarre that there's no 16GB option when some of the other M1 offerings have it.
Larger display, keyboard, MacOS support.I also wonder how similar the internals of the new M1 iPad are to the new iMac -- I mean really, apart from the larger display, what else does the the iMac have, which the iPad doesn't?
The computer is inside the chin. The rest is just screen. My guess is that the iMac Pro will have no chin akin to the Pro XDR Display. This iMac is merely for the "average" consumer.
