Except I didn't in context. You basically described an iPhone, you know that right? lol.

Everyone is bashing this but I really dig the Galaxy S7 Edge design, just hate the software. So yes please, Apple.
you really seem to enjoy passing opinion on as fact.
I hope not. I just returned my samsung s7 edge and got an iphone 6s plus instead. My fingers/grip kept touching the screen and randomly would press things. Impossible to use IMO. Maybe I'm the only one, but it's a dumb design and gives absolutely NO benefit. The screen edges start to warp so text looks weird, pictures darken in the edges. Pressing edges to get extra apps? Sure, or just create another swipe from right on a normal phone for the same functionality.
Again, my two cents, but edge screens is not as good as it is made out to be.
I agree it can look nice "from far" (when you look someone with a S7 EDGE), but what is really the plus of these curved screens in everyday usage?
It's a real question I've never used them but I can't figure it out
the curved glass on the iphone 6 is a gimmick too IMO. and I agree with your pointsGod I hope not. The curved glass on the Samsung Edge is just a gimmick. And it actually makes the screen appear smaller. Just give me a nice, big, flat screen please. And more battery please. I don't need it thinner, I'm not trying to shave with it.
Personally, I'm so sick of the iPhone and all other smartphones for that matter. It's all window dressing over the bigger issue; no one knows what to do next
Really hope it doesn't. Every time I see one of those galaxy edge phones I just think "there's an idiot that was tricked by a marketing gimmick". Oh you can see your notifications on the side? Thats handy...

Please Apple, no.
I hate those curved TVs too.
Had a friend who bought the Edge, hated it with a passion specifically because of the "edge". To be completely honest, what benefit does it give the user other than boasting rights to say I have a curved screen on my phone and it goes around the edge. Whoop-de-do, no one cares. I'm satisfied without a curved screen, don't need the gimmick to be productive.
Instead of having a wrap around screen why don't we go for human and have it curve vertically so it fits your cheek better when you are on the phone? Oh wait, kids today don't know that's what the phone's intended use is.

Apple is all about added functionality through design.
What functionality can the curved edges provide that will actually be useful?
Apple doesn't do gimmicks, and I don't think they would add on manufacturing costs just to create a "better looking" phone without justifying it with some practical functionality.
3GS is easily the most comfortable phone of them all to holdWhat I'd like, LOVE, to see is a 6" iPhone with the 3GS body.
lol that's the exact description people have for iPhones not Samsung phonesMy friend hated his phone and promptly bought an iPhone after his contract was up. I honestly think it's a gimmick for high school students and people who have no use for a smartphone but buy one anyways.
R.I.P 2016 iPhone lol
Edit - Seems so gimmicky, much rather prefer eliminating the top and bottom bezels.
Though the 2017 iPhone is more than a year away from launching, we're already hearing non-stop rumors about the device due to the major design changes Apple is expected to introduce. The latest rumor, coming from IHS analyst Kevin Wang, suggests the 2017 iPhone will include a dual-curve OLED display that covers the left and right edges of the device.
On Chinese social networking site Weibo (via PhoneArena), Wang said Apple will release a device with sloping edges similar to the Vivo XPlay 5 or the Galaxy S7 Edge.
Apple is already rumored to be using flexible OLED displays for the 2017 iPhone, which will be necessary for any kind of dramatically curved display. It is not clear from Wang's statement how far the display will extend to the edges of the device and whether it will be a subtle curve for design purposes or a functional wraparound display as Samsung uses in its Galaxy Edge devices. The Galaxy Edge's wraparound display features side buttons and alerts accessible when the phone is face down.![]()
Wang does not offer details on where he is sourcing his information from, but it is presumably coming from the Asian supply chain and Apple's myriad manufacturing partners. Supply chain information can be difficult to interpret at times and Wang does not have a well-known track record, but he has shared some semi-accurate information on the release of the iPhone SE. Earlier this week, Wang said the iPhone 7 will have 32GB as minimum storage tier.
Apple has reportedly secured 5.8-inch OLED displays from Samsung, and a previous analyst prediction has suggested that a display of that size could perhaps be used to wrap around the edges of a 5.5-inch iPhone, speculation that agrees with Wang's prediction.

Other rumors about the 2017 iPhone, which may be called the "iPhone 8" instead of the traditional "iPhone 7s" because of the changes expected, include an edge-to-edge bezel-free display with built-in Touch ID functionality, no home button, and a glass body.
An edge-to-edge display that extends upwards towards the top and bottom of the device, as has been rumored, does not seem to mesh with rumors of a wraparound display, leaving a lot of questions about the actual display we'll see in the 2017 iPhone. As the 2017 launch date creeps closer, we'll undoubtedly learn more about the device, giving us a clearer picture of the changes Apple is implementing.
