The 5.28 size in an X format could be almost as small as the SE in physical size. I would love that, and it seems a lot of others would from comments on these forums. Don't understand the lack of marketability.

you can see that Apple made the X to be the "edge to edge screen" for the normal iphone, so next year you will get the edge to edge screen" for the plus model

So the X will be better in almost everyway than the iphone 7-8, a 15% larger key on screen,larger,around 30%, screen area for content, BUT did not have the Plus UI, a lower screen area and so on. And so if you are used to everything Plus does better than the normal one , then wait until next year, the plus will have 6.5" probably, and probably 3000mAh L shape battery, UI enchanted , ipad dock style from ios11 etc

So next year, the 5.8" will drop at 899$ and the Plus will take the 999$ place

I doubt they’ll drop the prices. I think they would rather raise the minimum storage to 128gb and charge $999 for the next iPhone than drop the price.

So far besides releasing a budget 5c and SE they’ve never dropped the price on any new phone. (I am not counting when they added carrier subsidy to the 3Gs)

i think they know exactly where will be in 4-5 years from now

LCD or OLED for larger screen... reduce those bezels on iPhone 8, even if you want to keep TouchID on some models so as to charge a premium on iPhone X FaceID feature. Those bezels and the circular home button though iconic, makes the phone huge especially on the Plus model which has dual camera and looks outdated.
And unify iOS gestures - right now iPhone 8 and X have different gestures.

Would love multiple sizes to get the Plus fans off the "normal sized" X... it's going to make availability a nightmare this go-around, but next year they'll happily buy their dinner plate and I won't have to wait 3-4 months for the regular sized device.
