512GB. I'm interested in the demand for such a laptop. Personally, I don't have a lot of software installed, and I'm almost at 500 GB w/o a bunch of video. Of course one can add some pretty speed external storage, but that takes away (slightly?) from portability, simplicity, etc.

I guess it's a good thing the Micro Center near me didn't have in stock the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro 16/512 for $1,399.99 as this 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro 18/512 is a much better deal. And 5% cash back with Amazon Prime Visa

I had a MacBook Air with too little storage for my needs and it quickly became a real PITA. It's super easy to plug externals into a desktop, but it gets super super cumbersome on a laptop.

Ordinarily I'd feel like a schmuck for paying $2K for a 14" Windows laptop, but then I remind myself it's 1 lb lighter than this and has an Eyesafe certified display.
So the two specs you're interested in are sheer weight and some gimmick called Eyesafe? LOL, ok!

But whatever you do, don't go looking up how much "blue light" you get exposed to in plain old daylight.

Apple really really doesn't want to keep any M3 devices in stock....really want to transition to M4, it's sooo obvious....
This makes sense to me, but I don't remember this kind of blatant price drop in the past. In fact, I remember being slightly disappointed in the past when looking at the previous model when new ones are released because the prices on the most recent model wasn't significant enough to pull the trigger.

In other words, this seems slightly more extensive than in the past.

MicroSD

I have an extra 1.5TB added to my mac ($130). Relatively slow storage, but works perfectly with my 1TB+ tv library.

There is a similar price drop in Canada, but you can only get the english keyboard. I'm going to wait for the M4 to upgrade from the 2019 Intel MacBook pro I've been using without it's screen since a little accident rendered it totally black…

I would never ever buy, for any price, a computer on Amazon, where fake products are found in abundance.

Bought one of these on Amazon in Space Black and received a 64gb Zelda Micro SD card instead... so pissed. Hopefully a replacement is on its way soon.

What's taking up all the space then?
Even my 2018 macbook has 150gb left

Where are you seeing this similar price drop?
I only see a mere $300 off.
