I saw someone wearing airpods on the bus this morning - first time I’ve seen them in months..
Whereas a dozen or so people on the bus every day are wearing over-the-ear style wireless headphones.. JBL, Bose, Sennheiser, and occasionally Beats.

Wireless is clearly the future, but these little earphone thingies just don’t deliver the musicality, or the sound isolation. (Or the noise reduction that increasing numbers of new headphones support..)

Or the comfort, or the security of a tether, or the price that means I don't mind losing them
(I accidentally left a $10 pair of Sony phones in a restaurant this week - they returned them to me,
but it wouldn't matter too much if I never got them back).

For me, AirPods offer excellent sound quality, probably because I'm lucky in that they fit well. No noise cancellation but that's my preference for the situations when I'm using them (gym, commuting). I have other headphones and audio equipment for listening at home. They are the best sounding wireless earpods out there in my view - and I have tried them all.

For version 2 I'd like more colour options, improved battery life (on long journeys they have sometimes ran out of power so an increase to 7 hours or so on one charge would be great - enough to get you across the Atlantic for example) and maybe more options in terms of controls by tapping. Love them as they are though.

I really hope the addition of "Hey Siri" and the wireless case are not the only additions/improvements...

I really don't know what more you could do to improve them to be honest beyond that. Greater battery life on the AirPods themselves? But even that is an issue I don't really run into.

*Edit* Different colours (i.e. matte black). The only other feature I've seen people talking about is noise cancelling, but that's gonna chew battery like nothing else, and it's defo not a feature I want turned on when I'm out running, might be useful at work though.

I'd love earpods if they even remotely fit in my ear. They don't even start to grip inside my ear. I can't even use a silicone attachment otherwise they won't fit in the charger case..

Being tall has so many disadvantages sometimes.

I take public transit every day, I see some people with AirPods but on a train/metro/bus you really need sound isolation and AirPods aren't good at all.
I went for BeatsX, I have the cord but at least they can smooth the background noise.
If they made a pair of in ear AirPods I'd buy them instantly, but I'm not sure they're interested in doing that

It depends on the environment. I have had very little issues with any type of surrounding noise that has interfered with the listening experience with AirPods. For example, even with wind noise outside, it hasn’t been that much of an issue for me, but I also think it depends on how tight of a fit the AirPods are in someone’s years to lock out the outside environment.

Another member was complaining that the Airpods were a poor fit for their ears, which were allowing more outside noise to interfere with the audio.

However, I would really like to see Apple add a water resistance layer to the AirPods, even though they do fairly well against sweat any type of moisture, but I think it would be useful to have this rating.
I use them primarily at work, in an office environment. Where people are always talking and I'm trying to drown them out so I can focus on my work. The current airpod design doesn't work for me as there's nothing to seal them in your ears. I use some beatsX air buds that fit tightly in my ears and do the trick. No noise cancelling but they still work.

  1. WE NEED airpod that will last the whole day please.
  2. Silicone cover that can go into the case for charging.
that is really all we really NEED

Returned mine just because there was no way to control the volume from the EarPods .

You Mean..AirPods. Also, I don’t mean to be dismissive, but you seriously were not aware that you couldn’t control the AirPods volume? I mean, you have the option of using Siri and the phone, but I’m not sure how you wouldn’t know this before you purchased them.

Forgive me for the one typo I’ve probably had in my past 100 posts. I’ve changed it now so hopefully that eases your mind so you can get back to tending to your biceps. And yes I knew it before I purchased them. Where did I say I didn’t? I guess it never occurred to you that people don’t realize something will bother them until they actually use the product.
