And I know what caused it: Apple's assumption that all apps would be very tiny. Turns out that multi-gigabyte apps are a problem.

I don't expect online services to be perfect, but this happens several times per year. When was the last time you've heard about Google having s system outage?
I've had no App Store or iTunes Store since updating to the latest El Capitan beta. The 'wheel of lines' just keeps spinning. In iTunes I can update apps but not view or buy any new ones. In the App Store I can't access anything at all. In safe mode I can access them. I'm weary of sifting through application clashes that might be causing it. Just saying ...
Perhaps getting and sticking to the context of such phrases might be a good idea as well, rather than just throwing them out anywhere and everywhere, just because. When you are so arrogant as a company to make a statement like that in the first place, it better "just work".
The last few years, there has been a whole lotta not working.
You might be having some sort of an individual type of issue, as things like that aren't usual with pretty much any service/product at any time essentially, but as far as the service outage itself, seems like that issue has been dealt with."Update 3:40: The App Stores and some Apple services are back online, but iCloud Backup, iCloud Drive, Mail Drop, Photos, and a few other service remain offline."
No... no they aren't. I just tried to download an app a few minutes ago and it still says App Store Unavailable. And yes, I did try rebooting my phone. Can't update apps either, so for some folks it's still very much offline.
No explanation from Apple as to why this keeps happening. Apple's services are a pathetic shambles.

And it still wasn't about what it's being spun into. So nice spin indeed.Nice spin, but it was a marketing campaign that reeks of arrogance. When you make arrogant claims, you better be able to back them up. Something Apple hasn't been able to do in about five years.

The difference is that Google doesn't report when they are having an outage. It's out ALL the time. And you wouldn't typically care to know if it's down or not because the services are hit or miss from the start.
I'm on Crystal now, will give it a shotI am waiting until my heroes are in their 20's before moving up. I farm in gold league so I get a lot of loot, but not so much dark elixir.
Do you say the same about when it happens with Google, Microsoft, Sony, dropbox or others? Or just Apple?
I speak as I find. I am critical of those who need criticism. I am an Apple user so I've no hidden agenda.
I have never had a single problem with Dropbox over the 4 years I've been using it.
Microsoft services used to be terrible but over the past few years they've been excellent. I use Hotmail and Office 365 every day and I honestly can't remember the last time I had an outage.
I don't use any Google or Sony services on a daily basis.
Apple has an arrogant complacency that needs to be challenged. They don't seem to care how often their services go down and how much disruption it causes. It's one thing for the iTunes Store to go down and everyone has to wait to buy a film, but it is a very different matter if you are relying on these services to run your business. It's simply not good enough and they need to solve the problems now.
No one else has a slogan " it just works" , no other tech firm has a rabid fanbase that praises Apple so highly that they hold them in God like status plus at the same time pulling down all other tech firms to be incompetent or just copying the mighty Apple. Have I missed anything out ?Do you say the same about when it happens with Google, Microsoft, Sony, dropbox or others? Or just Apple?

Why do we need an explanation? I don't remember reading anywhere in any license agreement that Apple promised to explain things. This entitlement attitude really isn't helping. Have you never had a bad day?No explanation from Apple as to why this keeps happening. Apple's services are a pathetic shambles.
Yeah, not many have a rabid hateful following for no real reason aside form perhaps some sort of misplaced jealousy. No one else has a slogan " it just works" , no other tech firm has a rabid fanbase that praises Apple so highly that they hold them in God like status plus at the same time pulling down all other tech firms to be incompetent or just copying the mighty Apple. Out of Context? How can it just works be taken out of context. It either does.. or.. it doesn't. And right now, 2016, boy does it not. Apple is a disgrace in the tech world. All that money, the legion of ifans who would kill their own mothers on request and they consistently serve up lame offering after lame offering. So, you take a marketing slogan out of context and you ignore that Google and Microsoft have fan bases of equal dedication, just to try and make a point? Got it.
Nicely deflected? Not sure your point though, jealousy? From getting updates that brick my iPad Pro, or el capitan having all sorts of issues. Yep, really missing those highlights. My work imac thankfully is still on mavericks.. we will let the faithful do the beta testing. Cos Apple surely didn't do any..Yeah, not many have a rabid hateful following for no real reason aside form perhaps some sort of misplaced jealousy.
Don't feel sorry for this ifan, I'm just grateful to have technology that wasn't available when I was growing up. Otherwise I would focus my resources on going elsewhere instead of complaining on a web forum.I for one feel sorry for the legion of ifans, they worship the ground Steve used to walk on, and what are they left with, ???

The iCloud Team
My iCloud drive (and all services associated with iCloud) have been inaccessible since March 29. I've had a case open with Apple for over 2 months, and it still hasn't been resolved. I've supplied over 1GB worth of log files, videos showing the behavior on my iPhone, iPad and MacBook, and much more. I may have lost over 6GB worth of photos, I can't use hand off, can't sign into iMessage on my iPad or MacBook etc.
Nothing has changed in the last 6 weeks. All I'm told is "engineers are working on it". Funny thing is Apple keeps charging me for the updated iCloud drive tier I had, even when I am unable to use anything iCloud.
