Ohh you think?everyone is hoping for opening discounts and promos... 😉
I somewhat agree, that is unless I am in a shoving mood.It looks great, but I am not a fan the Apple Store random service approach vs systematic queuing. It's all fine when the stores are quiet. However, when they are busy, it can be a nightmare to get service. Getting help becomes more about luck than anything else. It can be the same feeling of helplessness as I feel in countries where people don't queue and it's about who shoves or shouts the loudest.
In the UK this is an old historic building. So disgusting that Apple's allowed to take old historic buildings and turn them in to places for Timmy to further enhance his wealth
Battersea Power Station is not yet 100 years old since it was opened. As others have said, it has been revitalised several times since its closure as a power station so I hope that this time it is successful.
Some of them don't even have parking spaces, madness.I can assure you you won't be living there on an Apple salary.

Some of us have the viewpoint that it is madness to own a car in London. No shortage of public transport options and car share or short term rentals are available when you have a real need of a vehicle. Some of them don't even have parking spaces, madness.

How is that 'enjoyable'? A tiny screen with a chip from decades ago, running an OS at a snails pace, and not able to do almost anything modern. Literally who the F cares. Certainly not the staff, who are being paid to be there, not to pretend to be awestruck by some guy showing-off wasting their time, just to have a photo-op.Because he realised that there would likely be a lot of people there who would derive some form of enjoyment from seeing it? And I bet there were too.
This is certainly not unusual for London. Driving is very much optional in the Battersea area as you have plenty of public transport nearby (Tube, Rail, High-speed river ferries), as well as good cycle and walking routes, uber, etc. Not to mention a huge number of shops and restaurants right on your doorstep, and a big beautiful park nearby.
The majority of new, central housing developments in London come without parking now days, as planning rules actively discourage it.
While is is true, if you're paying £4-to-12m for a flat, I don't think it's unlikely you'll probably own at least one (expensive) car if not more, and expect some kind of underground parking to park it for out-of-town usage where public transport drops off. Some of us have the viewpoint that it is madness to own a car in London. Is that IIc?
That's freaking amazing!
London is also one of my favorite cities. Been to the Apple Convent Garden store years back. Looking forward to visit London again someday. 🙂London (and UK in general) is amazing. my favourite city in the world (from Belgium so it’s not far)
visited Battersea only last month (via UberBoat)
You want to support a bigot go right aheadAs they say, there’s no accounting for taste.
Maybe just reading a few of the comments on this thread would give you an indication that actually some people do the F care? How is that 'enjoyable'? Not sure how you equate listening to albums purchased a long time ago to support, but you do you. Not to mention you can find unsavory things about a great many musicians. John Lennon was self-admittedly abusive towards his first wife, but I'm still going to listen to the Beatles. 🤷♂️You want to support a bigot go right ahead
Amendment accepted thanks. To me it seems like it only opened as a power station yesterdayNo, this is the first revitalisation that actually happened. There were many proposals over the years[1], but none actually came to fruition. Other than occasional use as an event venue and filming location, it was empty since closing as a power station in 1975.

There is no way that thing has its original internals. I'll bet any money it has an AS Mac Mini inside it. Presumably hooked up to either the original, or another old, CRT screen.
Coming next to England.... Apple's new Salisbury store at Stonehenge...In the UK this is an old historic building. View attachment 2218861

Please point your faux disgust elsewhere and thank Apple for supporting a superb building and adding to the prosperity which is needed in many areas of the south of the Thames.
