Seems to me like people are overreacting.

There are plenty of other discounts to be had on Apple gear at other stores.

Since you love Tim Cook and defending him for years now. At least you guys need to be grateful he does this. Obviously he doesn't have to but hey might as well buy something to support him to stay for many years to come.

I'm a bit disappointed. I've been on the fence with an AW2 for awhile now. Started swimming again and I hate to run, but I really hate it with my phone so the AW2 seemed like a good fit to really track all around fitness. Been waiting for a good deal to talk myself into it. Kinda expected someone to entice me but, so far, no dice.

Maybe around xmas time. Problem is money evaporates this time of year. I had it this week. Next month...who knows. Someone will get it. Guess they didn't want it.

If Apple cared about its customers they would have a sale for items people actually want to buy, not a lame attempt to move old inventory. Or instead, if Apple cared about its retail employees, they would just close for the day, like REI. But the reality is that Apple cares about nobody or nothing except their bottom line.

This Sale by Apple wasn't the greatest, but hardly from being "Old Inventory."

iPad Pro-(One year old, 6 months old for 9.7)

Or go to Best Buy and a $160 gift card. Yes, that's exactly how pathetic BBY is kicking the **** out of AAPL in terms of discounts and gift cards this year. Pretty freaking sad.

Even better. Didn't think Best Buy was giving a lot on the SE at all. Forget what I wrote before lol.

I agree with this. Although, I think most were in hopes of Apple offering a deal with the purchase of a MacBook Pro, you would receive an Apple Watch Sport for example. Something that would separate Apple from
The other retailers. I think this is new for Apple and perhaps next year, it might be more promising.

My love for Apple is slowly fading.....

Your love for Apple is fading Because of a Black Friday promotion? I wouldn't let this affect your personal life to much. Apple Is still meeting others expectations quite well.

What will it take for people to realize Apple only cares about money and not the customers? I'm a huge Apple fan but their actions lately make me question my future with them

Apple is in a position to make money. You make it sound like there is some type of personal relationship issues between the customer and Apple. There a company that puts out great products, perhaps not everyone agree's with some of the changes with recent hardware, but that doesn't stop from those who want to upgrade their MacBook, iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, ect.

You asked what will it take to what will it take for People to realize Apple cares about money and not the customer? The answer is technology evolves and the customer wants the best, most premium hardware offered to the consumer, as long as Apple continues to deliver excellent hardware and excellent customer service, they will continue to sell products. Granted, not everyone agree's with I'm saying or Apple's decisions, but it Certainly won't stop them from producing. Some are More bitter than others and need to stop allowing Apple to devastate their personal lives.

I ws in Southampton yesterday and the Apple shop was pretty empty. Probably because everyone who wanted to buy a machine was around the corner in John Lewis where they were offering real discounts not credits for future purchases.

Any offers on amazing new bands?
[doublepost=1480156986][/doublepost]
So you expect them to discount products that are setting records and were just released.... why, exactly? They have no incentive to do so.

$25 off the already $100+ discounted price...
Breaking online sales records for something that is years old is hardly novel, folk just didn't buy as much on line only 3 years ago..

Your military discount applies in store only. It doesn't Apply to online orders, which in this case, it wouldn't be an advantage for you unless you went to the store physically. Also, can a military discount apply to a promotional offer such as this? Because I don't believe you can use discounts with promotional offers.
Nope, can't combine promotions and discounts... but yes, the military/government discount can be used for online orders.

how about some real discounts on the products people want?

Instead you put out a pretentious coffee table book that no one wants or will buy!

MR doesn't like us posting one-word posts does it? It's a shame because it's all this 'Event' deserves, and that one word is 'Derisory'.

I would suggest "magical" or "courageous" would also suffice.

Jokes aside, Apple has never done a BF event of note. It's always a paltry offering that makes execs feel good that they're "participating" in the big retail weekend. At the end of the day, Apple's the opposite of stupid. And they're in an incredibly unique position for a retailer - they don't have to offer any discounts - and they know this. As much as I always welcome more significant discounts on their products, why on Earth would they take any cut when there is literally zero incentive to do so? Like years past, you'll find better deals on Apple products at 3rd party retailers. Those retailers' incentive is that getting you thru their doors (virtual or other) increases the odds that you might pickup something else in their store. Apple does not have that (or any) incentive. This years BF deal should not come as a shock to anyone. Par for the course.

Ehh people have been for half a decade. Around 2010 is when "camping" outside Apple stores on release dates stopped, because of online preordering.

I ordered a 1.3ghz MacBook. Will be using $150 gift card for BeatsX headphones which are.... $150.

Perhaps, but it is rough if you want unlocked devices and no service commitment on iPhones or iPads.

I completely understand. When I bought an iPhone 5 back in early 2013 at full retail, the $649+tax price tag was a lot of $ upfront. It was easier to accept that price tag once I realized that the iPhone was 95% as useful as my notebook computer and far more portable, but I resolved not to pay that much again if I could help it.

The iPhone SE at $399/449 and the availability of iPhone 6s/6s Plus refurbished is a good deal for more budget conscious customers. I went with an unlocked SE 64GB myself. 30% less expensive than my iPhone 5 was, and far more powerful & useful.

The value proposition of iPhone is getting better, even though one still pays top dollar for the newest stuff.

I agree.

I like the iPhone SE actually. I may end up getting it, but my current iPhone 5 is still kicking, so I don't see a reason to jump to it. I was ready however to commit to a good deal on an iPhone 7 had their been an occasion on Friday. Sadly, there was not. My hope was trade in my working phone + gift card and than pick up a new potential iPad pro in 2017 and use the gift card toward the pencil.

Apple greedy has no bounds.
I was looking for maybe a $50 card buying the AW2 Nike+ but they only offer discounts for old hardware. Really?
I love Apple but the only way they will wake up is when people stop buying their stuff. I am holding to my iPhone 5s for another year and my MBP 2015 until it dies. Enough of this crap Tim!

Not accurate. The Apple Watch Series 1, iPad Pro (12.9/9.7) and iPhone SE were ALL released in the last few months to a year. This doesn't quantify for "Old Hardware."

The Apple Watch is 18 months old, but let's not let facts get in the way of a good story eh.

Wrong. Then I suggest you re-check your facts, because the Apple Watch Series 1/Series 2 just debuted in September 2016, which was 18 months after the first generation Apple Watch launched from April 2015.

It really looks silly when try arguing a point When you don't even have your own facts correct. Try harder.
