I can't think of any iPhone apps I'd want to delete but can't anymore, but I'd love to get rid of News and several others on the Watch. Also on the Mac ironically it seems the Apple apps can't be deleted. Never want News anywhere. It's just an ad platform. Which explains a lot.

I wish we could download it on the iPad too. And Mac. I’d use it a lot there, especially with the package trackings tuff and spending categories that you can’t see in the Settings app on the iPad and Mac.

I use the app. So I'm keeping it.

Glad to see that they give folks the option to remove it. Wish that this was the default for all apps. If someone uses Chrome instead of Safari on iOS then they should be able to uninstall Safari as they wish as WebKit (which all browsers on iOS are required to use) is built into the OS and does not require the physical Safari app to work.

Me: Hmm...finally I can do this...jiggle mode...delete...🤔...confirm... Hey! Where are all my boarding passes, train tickets, discount cards, food coupons, reward cards, membership cards, room keys, vax cards, and concert tickets?!

They: Hey! Apple why did you let everybody delete the boarding passes, train tickets, discount cards, food coupons, reward cards, membership cards, room keys, vax cards, and concert tickets that we put on their phones? That's anti-competitive!

I don’t understand wallet. I use Apple Pay and have another health card in walllet. But I only used it for adding cards and that’s it. Which you can do in settings anyway….

Other than that wallet just shows your latest transactions. Which I can see in my banking app.

Not sure of it’s purpose.

iPhones have NFC devices on them, meaning that you can use them to pay for your stuff at stores, gas stations, restaurants, and many other shops.

It's very convienient to leave your wallet at home when you're going out to Kroger and just bring your phone with you to pay.

As of iOS 15, these are the built-in apps that cannot be deleted:
  • App Store
  • Camera
  • Clock
  • Health
  • Messages
  • Phone
  • Photos
  • Safari
  • Settings
  • Wallet
If you ask me, all but App Store, Messages, Phone, and Settings should be deletable, provided that Apple provide a default app framework (currently, only Mail and Safari are, although Safari is oddly not deletable).

Edit: I don't think Apple apps can be deleted anyway. If you attempt to download the deleted app from the App Store, it is installed (restored) immediately.

I get very good use out of mine, and wouldn’t trust another app. Couldnt even fit all the cards in one screenshot. Also, here in Australia, if asked, in certain places you must provide your COVID certificate.. having it in your wallet is easier than carrying around the printed version☺️

I never thought I would use this app, but even before I got an Apple Card, I found it super useful having my bank card handy if I had reduced pocket space, and that snowballed. Now I keep loyalty cards, proof of vaccination status, my transit pass and a few other items in there. To me it feels like an integral part of the iPhone experience.
