I never really found this wallet app useful for myself. It's just there.

Really? I use it for credit cards, boarding passes, concert tickets, movie tickets, health insurance card, proof of vaccination, car insurance card, etc. When my state allows it, I'll add my driver license, too. I can't imagine having an iPhone without the Wallet app.

Apple gearing up for the inevitable government intrusion into its business. There will be third party Wallet apps that a very few loud mouthed complainers will tout. Those who take the bait will get screwed over yet blame Apple when they do. Just take a look in the Apple Card section of the Apple Discussion Forums to see how gullible and ignorant people are about finances and credit cards.
Right, as opposed to the Apple credit card that can't keep up with the customer complaints....?

Me: Hmm...finally I can do this...jiggle mode...delete...🤔...confirm... Hey! Where are all my boarding passes, train tickets, discount cards, food coupons, reward cards, membership cards, room keys, vax cards, and concert tickets?!

They: Hey! Apple why did you let everybody delete the boarding passes, train tickets, discount cards, food coupons, reward cards, membership cards, room keys, vax cards, and concert tickets that we put on their phones? That's anti-competitive!
The fact that that's actually a realistic scenario with Apple software, is why I actively avoid things like iCloud or Apple Wallet, I just never know when some ridiculous loss of data is going to occur with it.

And yes it has occurred for me with both iCloud, and iMessage. My entire family turned off iMessage because we realised it was losing messages sent between us. Yeah, for real!

Off topic a bit, but now when I read fans on this site rabidly talking about the superiority of their blue bubbles, I just shake my head in disgust at this bizarre form of prejudice against some of their own friends and family, as they deliberately choose the one and only messaging service that isn't cross platform!!!!

Apple Wallet is merely just a way to access your existing credit cards, unlike iCloud, or iMessage, there is nothing you really can "lose" with it.

You have legitimate concerns.

However my point was that Apple wallet has always allowed multiple companies put various cards for various purposes in wallet.

Well, lot's of people add rewards, boarding passes, and tickets. And sometimes you might not have a physical version of those.

I find Wallet very convenient; a place to store all of my credit cards, my debit card, movie tickets, flight tickets, public transportation cards and loyalty cards. If I had been using Android instead of iOS, I probably would use their wallet system

If uninstalling it would let me remap the power button double-press to something else (open camera, duh!), then I'm all for it. 👍 😆

What about Maps? I want to delete that.
Really? Maps looks and runs nicer than google for directions. Especially if using for driving on a car mount. Yes google has more business locations etc. but if your doing a lot of driving googles directions are clunky and not are visually jaring at times when driving.

iPhones have NFC devices on them, meaning that you can use them to pay for your stuff at stores, gas stations, restaurants, and many other shops.

It's very convienient to leave your wallet at home when you're going out to Kroger and just bring your phone with you to pay.
Yes I know…. I said I use apply pay.

You open your cards by double tapping the lock button. You don’t need to open the wallet app at all.
