Unpopular opinion maybe, but sometimes subscriptions can be good, especially for a bunch of applications at a reasonable price compared to Adobe's offerings.

Subscriptions generate a steady stream of revenue, enabling companies to hire people and develop new features. I was going to buy Logic Pro last week, but I noticed this new service being released soon and decided to wait.

I'm willing to pay a reasonable price if it includes new features. Also, if this doesn't receive regular updates with new and worthwhile features, I'll simply cancel.
This... The caveat is they better update the applications far more frequently with new features since I am paying annually now. Also hopefully they slow walk any price increases over the next several years.

so with multiple devices say a laptop, and 2 ipads is that now 3 subscriptions or how many devices are in a single subscription?

Indeed. Sure beats Adobe.
It depends on what apps you use. Sure the price is not bad but since my industry requires Photoshop/Illustrator/AE, Adobe is a must and unfortunately I have to pay for that subscription. Luckily my wife is a teacher so I can get the educational discount that comes down the entire Adobe CC to $25 p/m.

Great, 12.99 EUR per month over here in Europe, which translates to roughly $15.5 per month, or 129 EUR/$154 per year.

Another subscription I’m not paying for, I’ll stick to the standalone apps, thank you Apple.
At least for Germany, this is probably due to the VAT, if you remove the VAT, the euro price is almost identical to the US prices. I just wish it would be 13 euros/month and 130 euros/year if subscription wouldn't be such an awful idea.

There is no update for me. Apple wants me to pay $299 for Final Cut Pro.
And every other app is still the old version, and the website is of little use.

App store somehow missed refreshing for me. I am in Las Vegas, USA not in some place where this is somehow not an offer I can avail.

Had to use the links provided in the article to download the apps. Searching 'Apple Creator Studio' on the App Store, no go. Geez, Apple, this isn't a good start.
Pixelmator Pro is only available on Tahoe.
I am in the same position. M4 Max Studio, cannot get the new version. it wants to sell me Final Cut Pro for $299.

Confused. They say there is now free and paid versions of the iWork apps but it sounds like the free versions will no longer be updated? Sounds like they’re now only paid apps through this studio thing.. I only see the 14.5 versions in app store
The new Creator Studio versions are still free and can be used without a subscription. It’s just some of the new features that require a subscription if you want to use them.

Why pre announce this so far ahead of time if it’s not tied to any hardware release?

It’s 1 pm on the east coast and still not available in Canada.

Where’s the new Pro Display XDR?

It’s like they’re trying to annoy the people who want to give them money the most.

Typical Apple ********.

I'm unfortunately obliged to use Microslop Office for work. Had been planning to switch to iWork for personal stuff and drop Office altogether when I retire in a couple of years. Though the basic iWork apps remain free for now, I have zero confidence that will be the case in the future and now have no intention of using them at all.

Why does everything have to end up being a subscription? At this rate, people are paying hundreds of dollars monthly just to exist. It's crazy. I, for one, won't sign up for this. I would be more inclined to buy any software outright and use it as is. Software currently isn't improving at a rate that justifies a subscription.
Haha. And I thought Apple would never start acting like Microsoft.

Serious question, does anyone use pages/numbers in a professional environment? I genuinely am curious. It's been a long time since I tried pages, but the compatibility issues with certain formats made it a hard no.
It took me a bit to get my head wrapped around Numbers, but once I did, I like it way more than Excel and I use it every chance I get.

......In a "professional environment" that does mean basically only when I am doing work that no one else is going to have to touch. No one else around here knows how to use Numbers :-\

I already used the submit feedback command in Logic Pro 12 to ask for an option to hide the "Learn more about Apple Creator Studio" menu item. Perpetual license holders shouldn't accept "pro" software to be used like a billboard for cross or up sale practices. The update installed "artist" packs that I don't use nor agree to be installed. I love Logic, and is the one software that actually supports completely my 4 MIDI controllers, and yes, this link is something minimal... but I don't like these practices. I hate what some companies like Universal Audio, Arturia and Waves do regarding their license manager software being another store front for their stuff, and now Apple is beginning to do the same. Not good.

I just got of a call with Apple Support.
They had me with the media department.

They confirmed there are multiple calls from people that have zero option to download things.
In my case, I am still being asked to spent $299 on FCP.

She told me the issue is brand new, there has been no timeline for a fix and it has not been addressed yet.

Curious how are they verifying this!? Are you inputting a student ID number? Are they contacting the school?
No, I didn't have to enter anything other than name and my school. (For me it would've been a proof of employment, which I could've given them in many different ways...) I guess they have some system in place for checking though, maybe some random checks down the line?

On the other hand: As a teacher I've bought Macs and iPads through the EDU store several times, though, so maybe my Apple ID has been flagged as an EDU verified account of sorts...?

A little concerned that they dropped support for Sonoma and Ventura and requires Sequoia or higher for pages and numbers and Keynote.
Hopefully file compatibility still remains for older macOS versions.

Still not available. Says available on 1-28 for me, well.....its 1-28.
I got it to install, i had the exact same issue. I called apple, they have no idea what was going on and said there are multiple cases of this.

I opened the app store and typed in FINAL CUT as the search. I clicked the Apple Developer page and it gave me options to install apple stuff.

I clicked the new icon for "numbers" and when I did that, the new final cut logo appeared and I was able to install final cut pro.
