I got it to install, i had the exact same issue. I called apple, they have no idea what was going on and said there are multiple cases of this.

I opened the app store and typed in FINAL CUT as the search. I clicked the Apple Developer page and it gave me options to install apple stuff.

I clicked the new icon for "numbers" and when I did that, the new final cut logo appeared and I was able to install final cut pro.

Got them! Thanks much! Yeah they really hid it, so I am sure it is still "rolling out"....Very excited nonetheless. Ive been waiting for this since it was announced.

I am in the same position. M4 Max Studio, cannot get the new version. it wants to sell me Final Cut Pro for $299.
I could not see / find the new versions until I downloaded Pixelmator Pro. Once I opened that, it asked me whether I wanted the whole Creator Studio suite.

I did not get that verification screen, I just selected the Edu plan and went ahead
Once I chose Educator and clicked Next (or whatever the red button said), there was a window opening in the background (took me a second to find it), where I entered name and some other basic info, and chose my school from a list.

And then the verification finished in the main (Pixelmator Pro) window.

With such a varied range of apps it’s a shame you have to pay for all or nothing. They could have easily split these into bundles for say ‘office tools’ ‘video tools’ ‘image editing’.
I’m sure they’ll make money but it’s also going to put some off who only want one or two of the apps.
Even Adobe have a photography plan, or individual app plan!

Subscriptions allow constant funding for the department to grow and bring new features. Rather than buy once, never seeing more revenue.
New features should be in major updates, which would require another purchase. Minor updates should be done under the current version; no purchase. That model incentivises companies to bring *real* value to their applications. The subscription model rewards mediocrity: minor updates masquerading as "new features"

I own Logic Pro Mac and have the $4.99 Logic Pro iPad active. I am wondering where this leaves me. It would really suck if the $4.99 subscription is not locked in and both Mac and iPad apps fully supported with updates.

Hmmm.. Here is to hoping they release a new version of Logic Remote for Logic Pro. The new version states it will not work with Logic Remote, even though this is featured on the new creator studio information for Logic Pro.

I don't count as an educator because I teach high school. Disappointing.
I completely concur. I am a K12 IT Director and use a Mac and would love to have these tools at the education price. I wish they had used something like ShearID to determine if folks are in education or not and not use college email domains.

It took me a bit to get my head wrapped around Numbers, but once I did, I like it way more than Excel and I use it every chance I get.

......In a "professional environment" that does mean basically only when I am doing work that no one else is going to have to touch. No one else around here knows how to use Numbers :-\

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking it was maybe something people used for their own personal projects. I can't image the look on someone's face when I send them a document that didn't open in Excel or formatted funky.

I was wondering the same thing. What time does Apple usually put out globally significant press releases? At time of typing this comment it's a bit before 7:30am in California so maybe there's still time to see it announced via a press release today although I'm not holding my breath on that one.

I'm planning a move to Mac after over 30+ years as a Windows user and I'm waiting for the 14" M5 Pro MacBook Pro to be released before making my first Mac purchase so that is the Apple announcement I'm most eagerly anticipating at the moment.
Tomorrow is a possibility — this will be bundled on the new machines, so it has to launch first.

Yes, it did that for me but Sheer ID is being stupid to me and doesn't want to verify my email

I can guarantee from past experience that Apple will eventually nuke something that makes loading past projects impossible. Hard pass for me.

From the release notes for Motion:

• Al-powered Magnetic Mask automatically tracks and isolates people, objects, and shapes in any footage
• 3D text is now dramatically faster on Apple silicon, with Metal-powered improvements to playback and rendering

Magnetic Mask has been an awesome feature in Final Cut Pro which is well-deserved in Motion. (One of the few uses of "AI" that most everyone can agree is great.) And a dramatic speed increase for an existing feature is nothing to complain about from any vantage.

This kind of stuff has historically been the whole fantastic story.

And it's utterly upstaged by the drama and confusion around the icons and mixing-in of premium features from the Creator Studio.

There’s a “Learn about Logic Remote…” item in the Logic Pro menu, under “About Logic Pro”, so it should be coming.

Apple today launched the new Creator Studio that was initially unveiled two weeks ago, providing content creators with access to six Apple apps for $12.99 per month or $129 per year.

Creator Studio includes Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and Pixelmator Pro on Mac and iPad, along with Motion, Compressor, and MainStage on the Mac. Final Cut Pro is Apple's video editing software, Logic Pro is for audio editing and creation, and Pixelmator Pro is an image editing app that Apple purchased in 2024.

Apple is still rolling out the full bundle, but links for the individual Creator Studio versions of the apps are now live and you can subscribe to Creator Studio from within them.

All of the apps with the exception of Pixelmator Pro for iPad were available prior to today, and they continue to be available for individual, standalone purchase. The Creator Studio bundle unlocks AI features that are not otherwise accessible in these apps, plus it adds new features to free apps like Keynote, Pages, and Numbers, with Freeform coming later. Creator Studio versions of those apps include:

Accessing the full functionality of Apple's video editing, photo editing, audio editing, and iWork apps will require a Creator Studio subscription going forward, though Apple will continue to offer updates for the standalone versions of the apps. Some of the tools exclusive to Creator Studio:
  • Final Cut Pro - Transcript search that uses AI to search for the soundbite you're looking for, visual search for finding specific parts of a video, and beat detection improvements that make it easier to match a video to the rhythm of the music. There are also new dynamic titles, transitions, and graphic elements to improve visuals.
  • Logic Pro - There's an option to add a Session Player to a song that plays synth keyboard and synth bass parts in a variety of styles. AI can be used to analyze any audio or MIDI region to extract harmonic and chord information. Logic Pro's iPad sound packs and producer packs are also now available on Mac. Users have access to royalty-free loops, samples, and instruments.
  • Pixelmator Pro - The Creator Studio version of Pixelmator Pro features a Liquid Glass design, a new warp tool for reshaping layers, and warp-powered mockups for apparel and products. Pixelmator Pro for iPad is also entirely new.
  • iWork - Includes a new content hub with Apple-curated royalty-free photos, premium templates, and themes. There are also options to generate and remix image creations right in documents, with a Super Resolution tool for upscaling images. In Keynote, you can generate slides and presenter notes using AI, while Magic Fill in Numbers runs a pattern analysis model across your data and suggests table contents for missing data.
There is no way to subscribe to just a single Creator Studio app at a lower price, as Apple only offers an all-in-one subscription.

Creator Studio can be downloaded from the iOS and Mac App Stores starting today. All new subscribers are eligible for a one-month free trial, and customers who purchase a new Mac or qualifying iPad model with an A16, A17 Pro, or M-series chip can get an extended three-month free trial.

The Creator Studio membership can be shared with up to five family members on a linked Apple Account. Students and educators are able to subscribe to Creator Studio for $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year.

Creator Studio's full functionality is available with iOS 26 and later, iPadOS 26 and later, and macOS 26 and later. Most of the apps require macOS 15.6 at a minimum and an M1 chip or newer for Mac use, though Pixelmator Pro requires a Mac with macOS 26.

As for the iPad, Final Cut Pro requires an A16 chip or later, Logic Pro requires an A12 Bionic Chip or later, and Pixelmator Pro requires an A16 chip or later.

Oh yes; with the Magnetic Mask I agree it's one of the more useful uses of AI. I've found it very handy in making my YouTube Poops! I know BlackMagic DaVinci Resolve also has the same kind of feature (called their "Magic Mask"), Magix Vegas Pro has it (called their "Smart Mask"), Cyberlink PowerDirector has it (called their "AI Background Remover"), and now Adobe Premiere Pro has it (called their "Object Mask").

By the way, what are the premium features in each app that requires the paid subscription? I'm already aware that in the "regular" paid Pro Apps said features are already there by default, but I'd like to research this further for a blog post...
