I've always been a strong supporter of Apple products and REALLY wanted to like Apple Music but I think everyone can agree that it is just NOT a polished product. There hasn't even been a much needed update in months... Using it with your own music results in a mess (bad album artwork, some songs not syncing, clean versions being matched). Just a big 'ol mess!

Yep. We really wanted to like it to. Got ourselves a family membership, and started to enjoy access to all that music… BUT soon my kids started losing access to music they'd purchased/downloaded… Some songs would stutter along, stopping and starting constantly as Apple's servers seemingly couldn't keep up. Apple should have had this one in the bag with so many iTunes customers and 3 months to prove the service's worth, but they blew it again. So hard to understand why the richest tech company in the world just can't get it right when it comes to online services.

Cancelled my membership and am going to stick with my own music and download a song from iTunes I like here and there. Much easier and I don't have to worry about an unorganized, chaotic music library.
one that i'm hoping gets polished sooner rather than later is the traps that happen sometimes.
browsing forward / going to an album of a song via playlist -- you sometimes can't go back to the previous stuff you were at and will have to start over and forward browse again to that spot.

it's not a deal breaker but definitely shows signs of rawer/un-polished UI.. i assume(hope) it will be better this time next year.

so how will this improve things exactly ?

Since Apple Music already has issues anyway, won't the bring over of Beats users, make this service even worse ?

On the plus side, since Beats Music is on Apple TV 3, maybe this means we will finally get some sort of update :) probably not the one we're expecting.

Bose products have amazing sound quality, even better than Beats. Pretty much everyone thinks so. What planet are you from?

Just because it's not made/owned by Apple doesn't automatically make it crap...

Yeah, not sure what he's on about. I've never had a bad experience with a Bose product and would easily take a pair of their headphones/speakers/anything over Beats any day. And so would any audiophile I personally know.

I'm not saying Beats are "bad" by any means (I do own a pair and currently use them), but I remember after initially getting home and trying them out, my first thought was "That's it? That's what the hype was about?"

The problem with Beats headphones are that they're overpriced, I think most people can agree that they have good sound quality but they're not worth the price.

Still I don't think it was worth paying $3 billion for Beats and obviously it was more because of the streaming service and executives with inside connections to the music biz (Dre and Iovine). Still, the only reason this acquisition happened is because, unlike Steve Jobs, Tim Cook doesn't really get music the same way he did so he essentially hired people to fill that void.

That is my main problem with Cook, since he doesn't have nearly the level of vision and involvement that Jobs had with the products and services being developed under him, he just sticks to being the average CEO and expects everyone to know what they are doing and most likely provides no input and just says yes to whatever ideas are pitched to him.

This is basically how I view Tim Cook when being pitched with the iPad Pro/Apple Pencil, iOS 7 redesign, Apple Watch, etc:

I guess now we know how long it takes to flush $3 billion down a toilet.
I wish I would have captured the URL to an article I read a week ago where Jimmy I. Candidly admitted that there was a lot of work needed to get Apple Music on track. (I'm paraphrasing). A very stark contrast to Apples tale of grandeur.

Everything related to Apple Music is a big mess.
Yup, best description I heard of it that Apple Music is not just too many cooks in the soup, it is a gang bang of cooks all over the house. The product lacks focus and customer profiles.

Personally, I have yet to see a co-venture between NoCal and SoCal corporate cultures that has not went off the rails. I was hoping this would be differnet. If Steve was still around, it may have been.

Though weaker than Spotify, Beats Music was far superior to Apple Music IMHO. Its like the service itself was totally unimportant to Apple, just the "talent" and "connections". My free trial of Apple Music is coming to an end and I wont be renewing. The more I think about it, it's just a bastard offshoot of iTunes, clunky software in need of a reboot.

I think Cook should have cancelled the deal when the "FIRST RAP BILLIONAIRE OF HIP HOP" video leaked from Dre. That left the agreement with a really bad taste. Jobs would have gotten so fed up when someone is so disrespectful to the business partner.
For Apple Music itself, I still don't know if the deal was right or wrong, Iovine is a really important person in the industry...

Anyway, does anybody know if there will be a browser based Apple Music? I really miss that...

I found myself this answer: it's not their job. I mean, if it comes to create a new market almost from zero, they're very good at it. I.e. phones, players, tablets, iTunes sales etc. When they willingly play the first run.
When they're passively forced to do some business because they have to limit competitors or because a given service is obviously needed and Apple as a giant moloch of this days can't just ignore it, then they have problems.
I wish my english would be better to explain this

Apple Music fits my needs very well. If I hear music I like - I add it to a playlist. I listen to the album and if I like it I add it to my music. Between work and evenings I use it for hours a day. Beats wasn't for me,

I totally miss Beats Music. I bought a subscription right before Apple Music launched for $99 because it would be cheaper than the $9.99 a month apple is charging. However apple isn't honoring that credit, instead they credited my iTunes account $99 and are subsequently deducting $9.99 a month for their hot mess that is Apple Music.
