People actually spend $15-$20 a month to be told what music to listen to?

It boggles the mind that these services exist at all.

not really.. you pay less than a cd per month but your music collection looks like this:

I just love how some people here are saying Apple should just close down Music just after a few short months it's been out. Funny how I candidly remember people here on MR saying Microsoft should be given the benefit of the doubt when that crappy Surface machine was released.

Well after 3 generations it's "OKAY" it's not the best, and it's still not the #1 selling tablet on the market but at least people gave it a chance. Too much hate on Apple here. Let me check the name of this website again because I thought I was on a site that celebrates Apple, not wants desperately for their new projects to get scrapped without giving them a chance.
Whatever man. Surface is excellent which is evidenced by the iPad Pro copying. They recognized their future is in the hybrid market. Non-apple zealots don't want to carry around a multitude of devices to do things that can be accomplished by one device. I love my apple devices, but if I could only have one device then it would be my surface.

I have a friend who designs speakers and amplifiers professionally (both tube and solid-state). He prefers the sound of quality paper drivers, ideally matched with well designed tube amps. I remember him telling me that the industry shifted to polymer drivers because a) they are cheaper, b) have wider environmental performance (i.e. humidity), and c) "new space-age technology" is always easier to up-sell to the customer. Now, my friend had unkind words to say of many things "audiophile" so perhaps he isn't of that ilk.

I say if you enjoy what you're listening to, then it works!

The main reason they switched is probably because its harder to destroy them and easier to make them within tight tolerances for cheap (so get on average a better sound even if your not willing to pay a bundle). So, tougher and cheaper. I've blown a few speakers in my days...

My post really wasn't about the Surface, it was just about making a point about giving Music a chance (like MS was given a chance with the Surface) before condemning it. Wow some of the Surface zealots here are so sensitive.

the only person to be fired must be Cue
Agreed, but they should all be fired - Cook included. Even Ive should be let go now. Apple really is failing, if they want to become innovative again the board has got to find some actual mavericks.

Bose? Your credibility just exited the building.
Lol so true. Bose is the most overrated and over priced headphone on the market. And please don't mention audiophile and Bose in the same sentence. High end publications like Sterophile would cease to exist before they ever reviewed a Bose product.
You want to talk headphones? Then talk Sennheiser, Hifiman, Schure, Phillips Fidelio, Beyer-Dynamic, Oppo or even V-Moda. Anything but Beats or Bose.

Master & Dynamic's MW60 absolutely getting my next $ for headphones. Sennheiser has been great, but for wireless, M&D is all over that apparently.

You need to go back to school and learn Algebra and Statistics because the amount music there is on Apple Music for the monthly fee you're paying for would not even come close to how many you have downloaded from iTunes and it is a lot cheaper with Apple Music and you can't be that dumb to think all you get is recommendations when it gives the freedom to find all sorts of music.

that said, i own a pair of beats (studio) and anybody saying "those are crappy sounding headphones" is either-- lying, never listened through them, or trolling.
; )
Beats headphones do sound good, but they are objectively over priced. I can match the sound on your $300 headphones for $200, easily. I could probably do it for $150. Not with Bose, which is similarly overpriced just for its brand name.
