Well, apart from how well the emblem suits the purpose, being it very classical and not a hint at modernity at all. We'll leave that to subjectivity. But Sir Ive missed one small detail in the vector-drawing.
Not sure why that matters, unless they plan on cutting vinyl, routing metal, etc. If it's just for screen or print, then that makes no difference and if it's a problem in production, then it'll probably be automatically "welded" during preflight check. My question is how you got a hold of the vector file?

Here he is working on that very design. A true designer can do anything in Illustrator using only their thumbs.

It's supposed to be dignified, not exciting.
It could've been dignified and intriguing. But when you hire a man who is wearing a pair of the most horridly designed spectacles I've ever seen (in the photo that you posted above), I suppose you get what you pay for.

I can’t express how conservative and boring his latest work has become. I am not sure what to think of it and why from being the most influencial product designer of our time he choose to make such choices …
Because he is now "establishment".
Boring, safe, don't rock the boat, all hail the queen king…

Me neither and I'm from the UK.

On a side note it's a nice design, once headlessmike, ( #20), has enhanced it.

So… progressing from despotism towards democracy… you don't see that as a good thing?
You're happy to be a "subject" and not a free citizen?
Tugging your forelock and grovelling by the side of the road?

Interesting…
You are spot on … a few years ago before the announcement of his departure from Apple, friends of mine told me they were to work with him on a new line of product with a very conservative British brand … I didn’t believe them at the time but this is coming out now very soon …

So..... what you're saying is he didn't design it.

Kind of like how pop stars think they're artists when really it's been Max Martin doing all the work.

Well, he may not be actually be moving pixels or Bézier curves, but under his direction and vision, the resulting design has enough of his input to make it his.

It's no different from a movie director having a vision/tone/look that he/she is after. He doesn't actually do the lighting or set decorating, but instructs others to achieve what they have in mind.

Like most high level positions in any creative field, they have put in the years of toiling behind a monitor, can speak the lingo and knows what is possible.

I am pretty sure one doesn't, unless one wants to go to prison...

That's because it was in the Clip Art file his intern stole off the internet.
