@PickUrPoison and @first-to-tea, to put to bed the arguments about whether people dislike the bulging protruding cameras on iPhones, 9to5mac is running a poll. Their results so far suggest over 80% say YES absolutely and YES preferably, people DO NOT like protruding cameras, and they should be REMOVED. So we can be Apple fanatics, but we must be design and evidence based fanatics first.

If the "yes absolutely" is considered a deal breaker vs the rest, which seem like an opinion, it's nearly 50-50 given the data presented. I personally would like the bump removed (the yes, preferably category) but I use a case and therefore it's a non-issue, from my one anecdotal opinion. It's like saying would you like the gas mileage on your car to be better, while at the same time making it faster and bigger. (I'll bet a headphone jack poll would yield similar results)

A good opportunity to employ someone from the "Steve Jobs school of design":

"Design is how it works."

With emphasis on "it works". Also known as "form follows function".

Make the things work properly first, then beauty will follow by itself.

You seem to forget the way the iPhone 4 was designed, your hand could ground both antennae and make it lose signal, that's not good design and nor does it work.
