**** the ipad, wheres my rmbp.. oh thats right, apple makes too much off icrap to care about their computers

----------

i agree with switcher.. apple has neglected their "computers" in favor of idevice, if you cant see that i dont really know what to tell you

You do realize the reason Apple makes so much money off "icrap" as you call it is because people are buying it. Apple would be stupid not to put more focus on the products people buy the most. And these days people are buying phones and tablets more than desktops and laptops. That's a fact.

"The only reason Apple can use Jim as an unofficial spokesman is that he is 100% correct, if just once he is not, he becomes useless to Apple in that function."
If he was an unofficial spokesman as you say, then he'd never be wrong as he'd be fed information from Apple. "Just once he is not" would never happen. So if he is an unofficial spokesman what you say does not apply at all.
It completely applies. Jim is always right, because Apple tells him what to say with regard to the Yeps and Nopes. Thats why waiting for Apple to send out invitations tomorrow or Wednesday is silly. Jim is right, its going to happen on October 22.

"There are a half dozen of you that everytime Jim posts one of these, thinks Jim might not be right." You said this. I am not one of these people. I don't care if he is right or wrong. I take his words for what they are and wait for the Apple statement on the issue. There is nothing like an official statement to put something beyond any shadow of a doubt.

Yes you are one of these people, Jim says its happening, Apple has told Jim, Jim has posted it. You think Jim could be wrong, so you say "I am waiting for an official statement from Apple, which basically doesnt occur, instead they send out invitations not make statements, so their "statement" is always later then Jim telling us when the event will happen. Also because Jim gives us nopes, we know when something isnt occurring we don't get that from Apple at all, because they dont send out non-invitations. Its a better and quicker source of information, but if Pony Express is more your speed go for it, but the rest of us, realize the event is on one week from tomorrow and have known that since last Tuesday.

Therefore Jim is getting inside information if what you say is correct. And with information like this he can't ever be wrong. Still Apple didn't say it so I'll wait. I think everyone knows my point of view on this by now. I don't disagree with your point of view. I just can't accept anyone else's word as 100% confirmed.

I don't know why Apple uses a hired unofficial mouthpiece though. Seems very pointless. Sure the masses just blindly believe this without thinking and it dies generate hype before the official announcement, so I guess it has it's good points. But the smart person sees this for what it is, the unofficial word before the official announcement.
