These leaks are from a very reliable source, he was also the one who leaked all the images of the iPhone 5S and 5C as well as the specs of said devices. It is not comfirmed from Apple but it is 100% If it is from this guy. And what he leaked in terms of specs are also what is most possible. For example, 2Gb of RAM will be in the iPad as the iPad has had 2 generations with 1Gb of RAM and there also needs to be something to differentiate between the iPad 5 and the mini 2. And with this being leaked for Sonny, I'd call it 100%, just unconfirmed. Basically, people need facts and they don't like leaks being facts but this guy is right. He gets the hardware and takes several images of it, the last image he taken was of the iPad 5 camera taken out the shell. He was the one that leaked the new form factor...
Well... less than two weeks!! & we'll all know for sure.
Omg, these are going to be EPIC teardowns. I'm getting a 5th gen iPad no matter what... so all specs can be are icing to me. VERY excited about 2gb RAM.. CANNOT wait to see A7 with some elbow room to stretch..! (feels like overkill in my iPhone 5S).
These next couple of years are going to yield some impressive iPad apps... I currently have a difficult time envisioning something that can actually tax this powerhouse... can't wait to be surprised!!
What would make this event even better is if Tim Cook stood up on stage and announced that they actually have the iPhone 5s in stock and that it will be available today. How amazing would that be?
It would REALLY bum out all of Apple's shareholders & fans, that they reached parity SO soon after a brand new product launch. Scarcity is a byproduct of popularity... Do you want Apple's products to be unpopular just so you don't have to queue for new products??

My Mom has an iPad 1 and is nowhere near a power user. Facebook is 90% of her use. It still crashes all the time. Sure she can and does use it, but it's not a great experience at all. It's insane how much better a 3 months wait after Christmas for the iPad 2 would have been.
I hope so! My post wasn't meant to mock or anything; just picking up on the tenor of previous comments and the fact that the rumor doesn't deal with MBPs.

And then he would go on and on about how Apple is innovating by painting the new iPad in gold color and sticking on a thumb print scanner.
I guess that is what people call innovation and creativity these days.

Just wait for OS X 10.10 Malibu, it supports multicore in the Finder. That's what the second generation Mac Pro will ship with, the 24 core Mac Pro with the Rockwell Xeons and the quad-core graphics, 12GB of VRAM. Available with 8TB of Internal PCIe 3.0 Blade Flash Storage....and rocking Thunderbolt 3 Optical.

I suppose Apple could always add an integrated kickstand and run some commercials with people dancing as they click their smart covers in to place.

Not sure if this is worth moving from my iPad 4 for the slimmer bezel. Also with the shortage in the supply chain for the biometric disc I really hope it gets this feature!

I am going to to pre order an iPad 5 with 64Gb of storage. The expected pre order time is the 25th (with the release date being the 1st of November) so there won't be any tear downs at pre order time but not soon after (27-29th). I too am really looking forward to 2Gb of RAM as well as the G6630 GPU which should output at around 205Gflops. This power with game controllers are going to be great; I just can't wait to see what developers do with it (addis Ex the Fall part 2 for example)

I'll be getting a 32GB iPad, for sure. I use it a ton for support calls/remote access to servers on the weekends, when I'm on call and don't feel like carrying a 15" rMBP everywhere. The new proc will be awesome for my JamUp/Ampkit/Sampletank/Auria work for music.
"as close to fact as it can get" is not fact. Just close to fact. And that is my point. I take this for what it is, a very plausible rumour. And if everyone does know it as you say they certainly are not showing they know it.

You could be one of those we didn't walk on the moon guys, I mean the other day Eric Schmidt said Android is more secure then iOS he's a senior exec for Google, you think that is a more accurate announcement then Jim saying we will have the ipad event on the 22nd, its from an official guy at Google, must be true right? There are lots of reason for Apple to be using Jim vs an Official announcement from Apple. There are a half dozen of you that everytime Jim posts one of these, thinks Jim might not be right. The only reason Apple can use Jim as an unofficial spokesman is that he is 100% correct, if just once he is not, he becomes useless to Apple in that function.

It happening or not happening is not the issue. A lot of rumours turn out to be true and a lot of official statements are utter lies. I am not talking about who is telling the truth and who is not.
I am talking about official confirmed statements vs rumours. And if Apple are using an unofficial mouthpiece to do the talking, the only reason would be to prevent egg on Apple's face if anything said didn't go to plan. Apple would just say "Apple didn't confirm anything." And Apple would be correct in this. As the unofficial mouthpiece can't confirm anything. They are just a very plausible way to generate hype to get the public hyped up and ready to receive the upcoming Apple announcement, whatever that may be.
Your sarcasm is well noted here in what you said. I do not believe that every official statement speaks 100% truth. But it is what that company believes. And that is my point. If someone else says it, then it is what that person (be it an analyst, or this Jim guy or you or I or anyone) believes. The belief could be based on evidence or it could not be. Does not matter.
I have my reasons to want to wait for what the company (Apple + others) believe in their official statements. No people outside the respective companies can officially know or state this.
I realise you don't care what I believe. You stated it in your post here. But for the benefit of you and everyone else reading this I am explaining my point of view on this as you seemed to misunderstand me.

If he was an unofficial spokesman as you say, then he'd never be wrong as he'd be fed information from Apple. "Just once he is not" would never happen. So if he is an unofficial spokesman what you say does not apply at all.
Mr Jim can be 100% correct. Be it through inside information (from Apple) or other sources, this does not change things. I will acknowledge this and say well done Mr Jim, but I will still wait for Apple's official statement.

I take his words for what they are and wait for the Apple statement on the issue. There is nothing like an official statement to put something beyond any shadow of a doubt.
If they put an A6X processor in the new Mini then it'll be a huge graphics and processing boost and still the iPad 5 can be the faster tablet, with the A7 / A7X.

They removed "Computer" from the name because of the iPod. The Mac Pro has been announced, months before release, top stop fears that they were going to kill it off.
They continue to make great Macs, just now it's become one of their products, not their only product.
Facebook has to be one of the buggiest apps as it is.
But I agree, an iPad 2 would have been way better.**** the ipad, wheres my rmbp.. oh thats right, apple makes too much off icrap to care about their computers
