Apple's iPad User Guide for iOS Confirms iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3 With Touch ID [Updated]

I think thats why they are trying to offer at 12+ inch tablet (differ themselves from the big phones).

If they are able to offer at 12inch tab that runs ios and osx I will be grabbing that for sure and I assume many would. How they would deal with the keyboard I am not sure but I assume something like the surface?

i agree. i just wish they would offer better multi-tasking features in current iPads. they would sell more, and they would be more useful.

So with this being the last announcement this year, where is the best pipeline in 25 years at apple?
So the apple watch was it, or was it iOS8?

For a company screaming about constipation with their enormous pipeline, one can only wonder when that explosion will be relieved.

Apple pay I don't believe counts, but I am not sure.

I do hope that this is a joke by someone and that they won't use iPad Mini 3 and Air 2 for the names, they just sound wierd. But as long as the Mini gets Touch ID, I'm happy.
Apple stopped numbering their products a couple years ago -with the notable exception of iPhone- so they'll probably just be called the new iPad Air and iPad mini with "2nd generation" in parentheses.

all i care is a fix for a wifi bug on my iPhone 6!!!:mad:

hope 8.1 released tomorrow and hope it fixes that fatal nasty bug!

funny how this got leaked the same day google announces nexus 6 and 9

I agree that it was most likely a controlled leak, however; I don't really see the benefit. The only people that would find any significance to the "leak" most likely already know what they want. This he average non-rumor reading person (majority) will not learn anything from this leak that would sway them one way or another in one days time. There are 7 iPads in my family and I can bet like most people 6/7 of their owners have no clue how much ram is under the hood or the camera specs nor do they care. The ones that do know and care (me & most likely anyone in this thread) already know that Apple is announcing the new iPad tomorrow and therefore the "leak" is also insignificant to me/us as well...

...and for heavens sake, there were leaks when Jobs was still steering the ship too. iPhone 4 ring a bell??

Have you tested on some other WIFI network. If you get the same issue on all networks, it is a hardware problem. If it is ONLY on a few, it is likely a software issue.

Did you go to an Apple store to check it out?

Whaaa, I just got my certificate for learning Mandarin for tomorrows event. Oh well....

What a crappy troll man.

I'm betting:
iPad Air U2

This is good. Ticks all the boxes. Lolz

I can't be the only one that is a little bit miffed by the lack of love being given for the iPad mini here. What's the point in staggering design updated between them when, come the announcement of the iPad Pro, they'll be a neatly packaged family of three different sized iPads.

TouchID is cool and all. So is the A8. But being that left behind leaves a bad taste in my mouth and makes me think that I should maybe wait a year before upgrading.

]I got something that will leave a bad taste in your mouth and its not the A8.

Just relax man, the A8X is going to send the iPad Air U2 and Mini into the next century.

I'm king of the nerds!

I know I'm not the first to mention, but it would be really good if they rethought iOS for the iPad or at least implemented some new ways of handling it.

The other day I played around a Win 8.1 tablet for a while and while I must admit that there were some annoying things and deficiencies, application/window managemant is much more intuitive/pruductive than that of the iOS...

Guys, admit it, this split-screen multitasking thingie is pretty cool and useful. Period. If Apple were the first to come up with this idea, we would all end up in cheer. I also like the idea that a physical button is not at all needed to control the OS. Yeah, I know that there are gestures on iOS too, but they are rather cubbish. I don't want to touch the screen with 4 fingers just to reach the app switcher, and I sure as hell don't want to pinch the screen with all of my fingers just to go back to the home screen... You know what I mean... these things might seem good at first but they are not that good in real life. I loved how I could handle WP 8.1 fast and elegantly without having to fumble about on the screen. Microsoft got this pretty right.

Don't get me wrong, I'm an Apple fan, I love iOS, but imho a device as capable as an iPad would need something different.

I've had 8 and 8.1 devices (tablet, PC, mostly because of work) for 18 months and playing around doesn't tell you all their deficiencies... There are some good things, no question but also a host of terrible things. BTW, I have a WIFI disconnection bug filed more than a year ago and it is still not solved on my PC; had to switch access point to get around it.

Split screen on a phone or mini tablet, utterly USELESS. Better switch one app to another, sending the app to background in those cases.

For a full size tablet, there a some use cases for having two applications side by side, but it is oversold; on windows 8.1 tablets, I mostly function full screen and when I want things side by side I go into the desktop. This laptop/tablet hybrid is much larger than Apple's tablet btw.

On a 12 inch tablet I could see how it would be more usefull.
