I think we can assume that the rear view is for both models. I doubt that the iPad mini would have a side switch and the iPad Air would not.

Also, anyone else notice the time as the heading of that screenshot: 10:33am !!! Set your clocks tomorrow and see if it was all part of the plan.

October 16 / iPad Air 2 = 8 - (iPad Air 2 + iPad Mini 3) =

HALF LIFE 3 CONFIRMED!

------
I do hope that this is a joke by someone and that they won't use iPad Mini 3 and Air 2 for the names, they just sound wierd. But as long as the Mini gets Touch ID, I'm happy.

Praise GabeN.

iPad
iPad 2
The New iPad
iPad with Retina Display
iPad Air
iPad Air 2

Apple, you've done screwed up iPad naming.

IKR. They did away with numbers once they got to the iPad 3, but now they're back with iPad Air 2. Apple is so unorganised these days.

I was hoping for more screen real estate, perhaps a 3x retina, on the new Air. This pic makes it look like it'll be more of the same..

I don't like that the mini and the air show the same amount of content. I really like how the iPhone 5S, 6, and 6 plus all show different amounts of content because of their screen size. It makes getting a bigger screen worth while, in my opinion.

It was ironic, I have accidentally sit down on my iPhone 6 too, even having it in my jeans which are tight.

Funny when people actually get BIGGER iPhones, they find something else to complain about..

Maybe I'm not sitting on them properly. I guess i should do a video showing me sitting on one to PROVE that they don't bend under proper sitting conditions.

Plus, I don't wear skinny jeans to look silly, maybe that's the reason. :)

This story was published half an hour ago and the direct link to the guide is still up?? I thought Apple had eyes on the internet constantly looking out for stories.

There's nothing wrong with the book the direct link is linking to.

It's the book's preview that has been updated in advance.

Well because everyone knew Touch ID was coming and there's no major redesign, I'm sure Apple done this on purpose for a certain reason to turn heads.

*ahem* Google Event *ahem*

When I downloaded the guide 10 minutes ago it didn't have the Air 2 or Mini 3 info in it she they must of caught it already.

A rose by any other name would smell just like the rose mini 3 with retina display 2

Not keen on the names at all, and Im surprised. If that's the actual names or just a reference for the guide. It could be marketed as 'The new iPad mini' and 'The new iPad Air' but I think that iPad Mini 3 and iPad Air 2 sound very clunky.

It's a tradition with Apple, it seems, to completely rename the iPad each year. I've just go with "iPad 2, 3, 4, 5" and now I'll add "6". It's too confusing for my customers that aren't at all familiar with the device. Using numbers makes it much easier for them.

Oh come on, surely you can see this wasn't an accident.
Small piece of information "from the horse's mouth" on the day that Google announce a full sack of crap products.
This is just to stay in the headlines and proves that a leak about something we all would have put money on, is more interesting than 3 Google products.

Touch ID on both iPads. Well DUH! What has this "accidental" leak actually told us? Nothing we didn't already know.

It might even be a fake. I'd like to see the iPad get a flash.

Imagine the disaster of they released new hardware and software EVERY quarter... Not just once a year.

I think it would certainly help spread things around a little to get more consistent quarters. It's bad enough that they have a see saw effect due to the quarterly cycles, but they are making these see saws more drastic ups and downs by pushing their products at the end of the year all at once.

I think since they are making several model iPhones, maybe they should announce the two different sizes in two announcements spread apart by one quarter, it would help production so they can roll out to everyone all at once rather than a several month gap between the first stage and the last stage. As bad as it is for the US customers, other countries have to wait even longer to get product.

Yeah lets make safari crash even harder and more often on iOS8. You do know flash is software not hardware.

Thank you for this. I will be in meetings all day tomorrow and was lamenting that I could not see the announcement, in Mandarin, live.

IPad with touchID and A8X is all I need to hear. I will buy day 1.

Hopefully it will come out that they are also doing something like split screen and 2 gig Ram. Everything else would be a iOS 8 feature or App.

That's the most exciting part of tomorrow's event for me. I couldn't care less about Touch ID on an iPad.

Touch ID is one of the biggest reasons I passed on last years model. One I had used Touch ID on my iPhone 5s, I don't want to go back to using a Apple device without it.
