Disgusting

What can I say:mad:
I really don't understand these programs where people smash up things for fun.
There's a program on Discovery as well which does these things.
Don't get it,just can not do that in this era anymore because its just wasting resources for nothing.
Here in Europe You won't find such utterly stupid programs.
Makes Me mad that Macrumors put this on their site.

I agree. No wonder the economy is doing so bad if people behaves so carelessly.

Utterly Stupid

Im not mad at mac rumors for putting this up, because if they don't I could not get mad at it.

I think that its pointless, wasting resources for a cheap laugh, and clearly an iPad doesn't blend!

It only blends if you destroy it first!!!

Yep...

Wow, notice at 45 seconds, the iPad glass has been shattered and the ipad is severely bent, but it's still working!

I'm impressed that Apple put this together so well that it was still working after being bent to a 45 degree angle. As for those whining about this, come on. Its good promo for the blenders, for Apple and it keeps us all in reality check. Things are just things.

The comment above in which you say "no wonder the economy is bad." Apple made hundreds of dollars just to have this guy blend it. How is that bad for the economy?

Again... this is advertising. ;)

I imagine they bought the cheapest iPad for this. $500 is nothing to pay in exchange for the advertising benefits they'll receive from a video such as this. If it results even in a handful of people buying their product they've turned that purchase into profit. Also, Apple profited from the sale (and also from the appearance of their product).

This is the economy functioning...

I would not be surprised if apple gave them the iPad to blend. It works out to be good advertisement for everyone involved.

Hast he blinder ever failed? All the Will it Blend videos I have watch is everything blends.

Their office is across the parking lot from ours, and I watched them blend the iPhone 3GS (actually they used my Red Camera #63 to film it) and on the first take, the phone fell to the bottom of the jar, and when they tried to blend it the phone jammed the blade and kept it from getting up to speed. The blender groaned, you could see the pressure from the blade pushing on the back of the phone all the way through to the LCD, then the blender gave up and stopped. iPhone WIN! Wonder if I have the footage of the iPhone beating the blender... they probably wouldn't want that out there anyway.

On the second take they were careful to make sure the phone was sitting on the blade when they started it.

It'd be funnier had he tried to blend it with the aluminum back and batteries. Blending the display isn't quite the feat.

Also the reason it works when bent is because the components are all at the top. Middle/Bottom is mostly made up of the batteries. Theoretically you could cut it in half and it'd still work. Although I doubt the display would function with half it missing :p

Ah well, still good for a laugh.

Yeah... bending it in half? Eh.. ok. But taking off the back to do it? Fail. You can't remove the sturdiest part of the product and then say "hey look, it blended!"

Pointless anyway... it's just an advertisement.

Apparently so. On a side note, a carbon fiber or rubbarized back would have been better for the ipad. Either lighter or more durable (shows less wear).

dd

dumb dumb... how many years are you going to milk this anyway? You could have given that iPad to some kid stuck in a hospital. Will a BlendTec blend a BlendTec?
