Apple's iPhone 5 Pre-order Shipping Estimates Slip to Two Weeks

If they were not ready this year, they sure as hell won't be ready next year
 
I'm still looking at Sept. 21! Got my order in pretty early, though: 3:08am EST. The extra Lightning cable I ordered is supposed to take a whole extra month to arrive (October 9th-15th). Wonder if I should have just picked one up in the store instead of bundling with the phone. Oh well.

I skipped over both the 4 and the 4S, so I've definitely gotten my money's worth out of my old 3GS. Excited to have a fast phone again.

EDIT: Turns out I was able to go back to my order on Apple.com and fix my shipping info! I know a lot of people were getting frustrated with this part of the ordering process, but I guess after the order has processed for a bit you're able to go back and make any needed adjustments. Here's hoping that college kid whose permanent home is 8 hours away gets to fix his shipping address!
 
I just tried to order one on Apple and it says 9/21 for all 3 phone sizes but in black. Not sure about the white phone.
 
30 pin adaptor included?

Who here thinks a 30 pin adaptor is included. Every other country launch page had an additional thing to order an extra adaptor. Thoughts on this? To see it just go to any other launch country apple store and try to buy an iphone 5
 
Who is working late night (almost 6 AM EST) on their APP to make iPhone5 Compatible. ;),


So they say they gonna start giving iPhone5 on store at 8 A.M, what time do you think I should be there for the line If I want to be top 50.
 
I have a family plan with my wife, she's grandfathered I'm not, with a $5 for 200 text plan each. When I try to upgrade its giving me the choice of pay per text or unlimited for $20. WTF?

I'm from Austria and ordered from Apple UK. Delivers 21st + status "processing". Will be shipped to Austria via Borderlinx.com (DHL postbox) .

Probably sometime the night before, honestly. When the 3GS released (I skipped the 4 and the 4S), my wife and I went to get in line at our local AT&T store around 5:50am EST. It was 2 1/2 hours after 8am opening time before we even set foot inside the store.

If you're going to an Apple store, plan on getting there sometime the evening of the 20th.

Alternatively you can order on the German store and have it shipped directly to Austria. Worked fine with the last iPhone and also this time the order was accepted :)

Which country? U.S. is still 2 weeks for all models.

I just did a quick survey of the U.S. carriers though and they are all reporting 9/21 delivery. Maybe Apple is giving them a larger piece of the pre-order pie this time which is why Apple.com sold out so quickly. Or maybe the carriers are so antiquated their sites don't have dynamic inventory checking and the webmasters are sleeping.
 
AT&T keeps telling me that they are unable to process my account at this time please try again later. On top of that, both AT&T and Apple say I don't know my social or zip code. BS.
 
How Long to Cancel Apple Pre-Order

Anybody got an educated guess as to how long before an Apple Pre-order will move into "processing" so it can be cancelled.

Also...Any updates on ATT shipping estimates? The site (I'm in CST so it's 5:03 AM right now) has been saying Arrival ON 9/21/2012

Yeah, I put in an additional order via the app and that one is stuck at Apple's "ships in two weeks" time frame. We'll see if I can pull out and try ATT Website...

Luckily, though, I did slide in with Black/64gb Iphone 5 to arrive on launch day YEAH!!!

And...after looking long and hard at several phone options...I reluctantly had to admit that the complete package with Apple was the best out there for me since I'm on all Apple Hardware. Although...would Apple please hurry up and do something with live tiles...surely the phone has specs that can handle that NOW!!

I am planning to go to AT&T store, I might be able to get one if I go there about 6 AM in the morning.

(599 GBP) =744 Euro in UK Store
+shipping max. 40 euro express or cheaper standard shipping method
+UK=>EU adapter

Maybe next time ;).

:mad: I set an alarm that didn't go off. So got to wait 2 weeks now. Sucks so bad. I literally just got my order in. Last year when I ordered for my girlfriend, it didn't happen that quickly. Oh well.

Got my confirmation email at 8:15 after half a dozen tries, using the iPhone Apple store App.
 
Went from "we've received your order" to "processing" then back to "we've received your order."

Is that bad :eek:

At what stage of the order were you allowed to change the shipping address? I'm currently still in the ordered phase and not processing yet, do I need to be in processing? Currently it's not allowing me and says to try again later, I'm assuming because of the heavy traffic. Any ideas?

You can cancel up to the point its "preparing for shipment." But that point depends where its shipping from. If its shipping from China it could be this afternoon or it could be next Tues. If its shipping from the US it probably won't ship until Wed.

As for ATT, yep, hard to take is seriously, but I went ahead and ordered anyway b/c the last thing I want to do is camp out. So I'll keep fingers crossed and see what happens w/ the status later today.
