How about the guy telling everyone to wait until 6am or 7am and the site traffic would be lower. Glad I didn't take that advice. Two phones secured at 3:25am!
No doubt that the lines at Apple stores are going to very, very long on launch day. Those stores are going to be a zoo.

Got in early with mine here in the UK. Apple store app says its dispatched with deliver for 21st?! Is that normal?
It makes me think of the iPad.

No, not with preorder. You will just go to the store on the 21st, that is now your only shot to have it on release day.
Been there, done that in 2008 for the 3G. With the massive activation delays in-store.
Pre-ordering is the way to go, even if it means you need to wait an extra week or so before it ships.
(Sick brag: got the confirmation email at 00:08 PST, with 9/21 ship date thanks to the Apple Store app.)

Yeah same here! I'm really pleased with the whole process. I was done before 12:00 and got the confirmation email at 12:02.
I'm very pleased with this preorder release.
yeah, just checked mine, when i started the order it said delivers 21, but i guess sometime when i was inputing my info it switched to 2 weeks. dammit. i would of taken my chances at the store if i knew this happened. atleast i know my order was right around the time they slipped so maybe i still have a chance of it not taking a full two weeks.
Glad for all of y'all folks. Pre-order time is always exciting. I won't go for the 5, or at least not right away, but I remember the frenzy when the 4s launched, and how excited I was. It sounds futile, but being in the first wave kinda does something to you

Man, there are gonna be lots of angry people this morning. And they will sell out even quicker next year when those people realize they'll have to stay up since they missed it this year. Thank god I didn't follow last year's trend!
