It makes me think of the iPad. ;)

"We already have this. It's just a huge iPod!" -> reinvigorates the entire tablet business

I wish I had a dollar for every doubt I have heard expressed over an apple product over the past decade. Regardless of doubt over demand or over how useful a product would be, the doubters have been wrong 99% of the time.

I got 5 iPhones ordered for all of my FamilyPlan lines... had trouble with one but I finally got it to go through AT&T. Wheew.

Placed my order on the Apple site within the first 25 minutes. Glad I did.

However, I bet most of the traffic on the carrier sites was due to Galaxy SIII demand spiking because the iPhone5 is so disappointing.

/S

Dates on different models, carriers, and colors will now start to drift out as each allotment is sold.

Looks like for some the first wave (21st) is passed.

Glad for all of y'all folks. Pre-order time is always exciting. I won't go for the 5, or at least not right away, but I remember the frenzy when the 4s launched, and how excited I was. It sounds futile, but being in the first wava kinda does something to you :)

Enjoy!

I know what you are saying, when i got mine in at 2:10cst I thought to myself for a moment.. "maybe this thing isn't going to be as big as they thought" I was wrong!

att says my account is not eligible for upgrade until september 25 even though i haven't had a new phone since the day the regular iPhone 4 came out and it says contract has ended when i check the contract status on my account on att.com WTF?!?!?!?!

blows...that is why I left ATT They had me trapped there long enough.....

yeah, just checked mine, when i started the order it said delivers 21, but i guess sometime when i was inputing my info it switched to 2 weeks. dammit. i would of taken my chances at the store if i knew this happened. atleast i know my order was right around the time they slipped so maybe i still have a chance of it not taking a full two weeks.

Y not buy from your carrier. When Verizon got the iPhone 4 I got the phone in the mail the day b4 it came out. So why wait 2 weeks or go to the store?

Wheres the unlocked version? At least give us a date of when it will be released, although it may probably be a month if comparing last year's time.

I've done the line-waiting thing.

I'm perfectly fine with waiting the extra week if it means I don't have to do that. Have fun, kids, but I just can't do that kind of thing anymore. I got my '2 week' estimate for shipping and that's just fine with me.

Considering the demand for the on-contract versions right now I would guess a while.

ATT site down. Apple - 2 wks to ship. 3:30am ET.

I got online at exactly 3:30am ET. Apple site was very slow and eventually started saying it's down. Cannot order. Apple site at 3:30am ET already showed 2 weeks to ship. If you didn't order in first 30 mins, you are hosed.

just got an email to complete order when I tried to pre-order earlier. IT DOES NOT HOLD PLACE IN LINE. Delivery time is now 2 weeks

Welcome to last year... same thing happened. Was total chaos with the "Unable to process... blah blah blah" I literally ordered my iPhone like 500 times to get one order to go through. Then by 6:00am it was like 3 weeks wait.

I only ever camped out for the first iPhone, but it was a total blast. In a way it kind of added to the product because of the excitement about an entirely new phone and the environment outside of the store all day, but now with yearly updates I no longer see the point of camping out or even waiting in line for a couple hours.
