I have the current gen iPod Touch and I only get about 8hrs of battery life and that's with the wifi off most of the time.

Being way too thin isn't good. No bueno

The A7 is proven to have better battery life than the A5 (the one in your iPod) and more speed. You can't compare your iPod Touch to the next gen's A8 processor based on your usage of an iPod touch with a soon to be 3 generation old processor.

Use some common sense man.

That Vlogger makes some pretty compelling arguments.
I guess we know what the new phone is going to look like now for sure. :(
I'm a little disappointed. I was hoping for that curved screen design with the edge to edge screen.
I hope the colours are better than the iPod touches though.

What most people don't realize is, Apple sets the amount of battery life on purpose. Making it not last a whole day means you have to have at least two charger cables, unless you carry the cable around with you. $30 per cable, an extra profit with maybe 1/3 of the iPhone users? Profit. My speculation of course ;)

As much as people like to complain about how they don't care about thinness, if you go backwards from the device you have, it's always less appealing to hold a thicker phone...

My iPhone 4S battery is starting to show its age. I really hope the new iPhone(s?) arrive in June and not September. I'm ready to upgrade now.

Get the battery replaced for $80 or do it yourself for $30. A fresh new battery will make a huge difference.

Do you have a source to backup that the only reason that all Android phones got bigger was to fit bigger batteries in?

Perhaps you shouldn't take people so literally. It was obvious at the time that LTE and battery life were a major (if not the primary) factor in the decision to go bigger. The only reason for every phone? No, but some artistic license is permissible.

ENOUGH the iPhone 5 is already thin and slippery enough. now add a even taller lighter device and itll just flip out of your hand in no time.

i rather have a better battery life. redic

LOL no doubt. Great strategy for Apple. It makes the Applecare Protection plan for attractive.

No. They make the phone as good looking as they possibly can so they can make the $400 profit off the sale of the phone. Better looking phone = more sales. All the cables and adapters Apple has ever sold probably don't equal one week of iPhone sales.

ICYMI Battery life is more important than thin phones to a majority of people.

ICYMI I never claimed otherwise. Not sure what I missed. I'm only implying comments here are repetitive and predictable, I said nothing about my own opinion or my judgement of other people's opinion on the topic.

This makes no sense at all. Of course they want you to buy more accessories but at the same time you have to keep mind this is a phone. It's not practical for people to keep it tethered to a power cable during the day so even if this was a planned strategy by Apple I don't think they are going to talk many customers into buying a cable due to the battery possibly not lasting a whole day. Car cord maybe but home adapter no way, especially with Monoprice around. ;)

the iphone 5/5s is starting to feel heavy and chunky...bring on the iphone 6.

no kidding.

I would like my next iphone to be as thick and solid as my 4s. The form factor is perfect just the speed is not great. I am not interested in thinner at all.

4s with new processor and better battery life. Am I alone? I think not. Personally cannot stand the 5/5s form.

+1

I have an iPhone 4 and love the size and weight. I have had time with the iPhone 5 models (except the 5c) and they were to light for my taste. And I've held the current generation iPod touch and HATE its thinness.

I understand these "leaks" are really just rumors and possibly hearsay but I'm not sure now if I should get a 5S or go to Android/Windows phone. I don't like super thin devices.

Yeah, uh, the current generation iPod Touch slips out of my hands way more than the first generation one did. I don't think that's because I've become more clumsy; it's just hard to get a solid grip on it since it's so thin and has a rounded backside. The volume buttons are also more difficult to press than they need to be since they're so thin and on a rounded surface, which is especially annoying when trying to use them as camera shutter buttons.

I agree about the slipperiness. The 5, 5S; and the iPad Air and Mini are quite slippery.

Since the iPhone 5 and 5S are both scuffed up messes waiting to happen, I have a case on mine, so it's not so slippery. ;)

I really do miss the 4S form factor. I'd love to see that (or an updated version of it) in the larger screen size. Just think how much battery life we'd get then.

A lot of angst over a product that doesn't exist. Get a grip people. Geez.

This would be great only because I could put a huge case on it to protect it and it would then be a good size to transport and grip

I keep a case on my iPad Air too. It would slide right off of my lap if I twitched a muscle without the case. I'm not really crazy about the iPhone 5C, but it's much easier to hold onto than the 5S.

"iPhone 5s is ridiculously thick, I could never use this!"
-no one ever

I use my ipod touch around the house and get depressed whenever I leave the house and have to swap it for the fat thick brick that is the iphone 5 :(

But it does exist, in secret labs and manufacturing facilities. We just don't know the actual form factor at this point. My guess is that thinness will be of utmost importance as the latest trends have shown.
