You know Mophie have a patent for the design for their battery cases? No-one can copy them.

Be grateful they're offering something, no matter how it looks.

Wow, it's getting increasingly hard to please people nowadays.

Steve jobs would have never done this.

If I was getting the 7, I would buy it. I want to pick one up for my 6S plus. It also has the added bonus of potentially irritating any style-oriented Apple enthusiasts within close proximity.

My phone could look like a pile of feces, and I would still love it as long as it functions well.

It's got an ugly hump, but this is the best battery case for the iPhone. If you charge the case while it's on the iPhone to 100%, the iPhone will use power from the case directly. This prolongs the life of your internal battery and you avoid the loss of power from charging your internal battery.

iPhone battery case:
Battery case -> iPhone <- Internal Battery

Other battery cases:
Battery case -> Internal battery -> iPhone.
not true at all.
You clearly have not used any of the battery cases. Try Mophie for once?

Apple is really pushing the HUMP and a Qtip like dangling heaphone. Wait a minute Phil wants you to buy a dock too so, you can listen to music while charging. Wait a minute my lightning headphone doesn't work Phil!

I have the Mophie pack for my iPhone 6 for work. I wish I got the Apple one due to the Lightning port. Nothing sucks more than having to bring a USB charger for the battery pack...

Why would you want to? It is designed to use the battery pack first so that it preserves your iPhone battery.
because it's a battery pack, you want to save it when you are running out. Why are you charging it when it's full?
Also the most efficient charging is when the battery on the phone is below 20%

I like how the Mophie does is backwards. Drain phone. Then turn as battery pack as needed to recharge.

Why can't I get one for my 7 Plus? I wouldn't use it normally, but a day of sightseeing can quickly drain a battery, between maps/GPS and lots of picture taking. The 6s Plus is good on a normal day, but sightseeing takes its toll in a hurry.

because to me and many others that would make no sense. i want the pack to charge it when its low, not use all the power first then use the phone

The point is that unlike other battery cases, power goes directly from the battery case to the iPhone. What other battery cases do is charge the internal battery. Since the iPhone battery meter slightly overstates the charge percentage, it isn't readily apparent, but Apple went to great lengths to point this out when they first released the iPhone 6s battery case.

Wow, they didn't even improve on this design which is universally lambasted by both fanbois and h8tes alike.

Sorry, I am tired of all the blogs making excuses for Apple. This is LAZY and greedy, period. I don't care what is coming down the pipes at Apple, Apple took a dive this year on R&D knowing there are millions of idiot consumers that will simply buy anything "new" from Apple. iPhone 7 and Apple Watch 2 were quick and dirty ways to boost

This is a 1/2 trillion valued company who is spending less on innovation then companies like ACER, ACER or Huawei or One Plus. Its shameful in all honesty, this company has not pride anymore, just blasting out old designs and fully taking advantage of their naive consumer base.

Is that you, Johnny?

But that uses up a cycle on the internal battery. It's also less efficient to recharge a battery. The way Apple designed it, you first drain the external battery.

What if....

Apple gave the battery case a removable battery?? And perhaps a cover to use when you don't want/need the extra battery.
