Except the ones needed using ultra wide and macro and telephoto.

Why do they keep thinking they need more than just the standard and pro models? If they are developing a fold phone, then they have too many options for consumers. Having just a base and pro model is easier to choose from and it's less confusing in the end.
But why did that require them to release this phone to the public? Just keep working on the foldable and release that when it’s ready.Failure or not, this was an engineering challenge to prepare for the upcoming folding iPhone, which is going to resemble two of these stacked. And perhaps the tech will trickle down to the standard iPhone and ultimately make it thinner with the same battery life it has now.
Means nothing to the regular consumer. The fact is that the iPhone Air takes amazing photos. Do the Pro’s take better?! Slightly, not enough for the regular Joe to notice or care about.
The iPhone Mini was the first iPhone I bought since the 4 or 5, and I stopped buying them after the mini died and went back to Google. If they brought out a 5.5-5.7in phone I'd definitely buy one again.Very few are clamoring for this. Honestly, I think more people would prefer an Air sized version of the standard Pro. The general public doesn't want small phones. And sales have proven that. Multiple times.
Your average consumers don’t care about that, they don’t even know what they are…Except the ones needed using ultra wide and macro and telephoto.

I just don’t think influencers are anywhere near as influential as influencers would like to believe. The idiotic “influencers” killed the product before it was given a chance.
They said it would break easily (it’s the most durable iPhone ever). They said the battery life is terrible (it nearly identical to the base 17). They said it’s missing cameras (90% of people take 90% of their shots using the main lens).
And yet Apple caters to these people who chase clicks for a living.
The "holiday" season is right in front of us, we'll have to see how consumer spending is going to be ... and the production"cuts" is part of the forecast, happens every year ...What exactly do you think will happen after two months? Three months? Four months? Will consumers suddenly change their requirements for a smartphone? They’ll reverse their decision and accept a single camera, reduced battery life, and mono speaker?
You really don’t think Kuo has visibility on sales targets and supply chain? Apple snaps their fingers and parts show up with no need for assembly lines and material procurement?
I think you are confusing regular Joe’s with macrumors members.Sure it means nothing except for billions of dollars in revenue from Apple.
Regular Joe cares about camera lenses.

they'd be better off just raising prices. they're spending too much energy chasing price points when jobs' og philosophy of simple product lineups continues to win out. They're desperate to get the average spend on iPhone up. For argument lets say a third of iPhone sales went to the Pro when that model was introduced, suddenly you've got a third of iPhone sales at $1000 rather than $800. Great job.
You would be surprised… you give them too much credit. An average consumer can pretty easily tell two lenses versus one, however.
This is such a strange position you are staking out
Normal people absolutely care about getting the best photos possible. It’s usually related to kids.
In my opinion the fold will be a niche product and expensive just like the AVP.Don't be surprised if apple cuts everything out. The Air is a big hit in china. I am waiting on til 2 years for the folder to fix the oncoming problems assuming it survives or even comes out. With marketing fools in charge anything is possible

Because they need to field test the tech, and there is a niche of customers who do want this type of phone (ie me). So instead of hoping things work out when they release the fold (which I assume has a larger market), they can work out the kinks in this gen.But why did that require them to release this phone to the public? Just keep working on the foldable and release that when it’s ready.
