Apple's Jan 27 Media Event - Spoiler-Free Thread

Damn it! I just got a dose of it (probably less than .75 sec and my ears were covered). I was walking up from the basement to the living room to get a DVD to watch and BAM!!! they're talking about it on the local news. I'm so pissed now.

I may as well go to the Apple site. Or not. I don't know what to do. Advice?

haha, yeah I've watched all of the previous apple keynote videos since Macworld 07 (at least, thats how far back the podcast ones go) after following them on live update sites, like mac rumors live in the past, but for this one, i wanted to wait and be surprised (hopefully lol!)

Just continue to wait. It'll still be much more enjoyable to see it demoed for the first time in video form.

ROFL! It's hard to wait though. I don't know how H.264 feels about me. I think it hates me (cries into elbow)! And once H.264 went out with my bestie. Yes, my bestie.... I can't love it anymore. (runs off)

Well, to get the conversation flowing, what's everyone's favourite movie?

I'll start with my personal favourite of 2009: Either 500 Days of Summer (really, really good and cute) or Zombieland (hilarious, go watch it now. NOW! Why are you still reading?)

And of all time: The Producers (the old one made in 1968. The new one was pretty bad but the one made in 1968 with Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder, which is not a musical is hilarious and easily my favourite film of all time).

So what's your favourite movie/film?

I refuse to go anywhere else on the internet in fears of having it spoiled. I already accidentally clicked the MacRumors bookmark instead of the MacRumors spoil-free bookmark. I got a quick glimpse of something and quickly closed the tab. It was too brief to even remember what the things I saw looked like.

Hurry up, Apple. I can't take it any longer. :[

My thoughts are that we all know it's a ******. (ok, we think we know, I don't actually know yet :D) but the fun is in the presentation. I say to stick it out and watch the keynote. Maybe there's still something else besides what you heard.

(censored in case you live under a rock and are completely clueless as to what it could possibly be)

Yeah, really. How long does it take to throw in a disclaimer, connect a few camera angles and upload the thing? Are they running FCP on a G4? That's the one thing I never got about Apple, how long it takes them to do such a simple task.

I wonder how long Feeling Strangely Fine by Semisonic is?

Like many here I've repeatedly inadvertently entered my favorite tech blogs into the url bar only to scramble to close the window before anything loaded.

Haha. I've done that.

Shouldn't they be able to post this stuff immediately by now? I mean with sites like ustream and all the video they're pumping out through iTunes it seems weird Apple would be so slow with their keynotes.
 
I accidentally just saw a picture on the macrumors home page... damn safari and loading new webpage snapshots when you open top sites!:mad:
