Thats it. It's over. Finito. 4s all the way...

1.5 years and a stinking CPU update!?

Geesh, windows 7 phone here I come, screw this.

Is really a windows 7 phone is that much better? I'm failing to see how a new faster, better iPhone with new cutting edge software features is the final straw for you because it looks the same ... at least you didn't say RIM.

It's like crapping on a M3, WRX or Lancer Evolution because it looks the same as the base models.

Personally, I believe it will be nothing but a 4S which is still a very hefty innards upgrade.

Apple's strategy seems to be to innovate and come up with something new, be ahead of the game for a couple years because no one can match the price/cool factor, then eventually once it becomes a big orgy with hundreds of players and dirt cheap products they go on 'maintenance release', keep the high prices, get slammed by fanboys of the opposite phonesex, and come out with something new and amazing no one else can match yet.

It started with the iPod, jumped to the iPhone, then to the iPad, I predict after that it will either be TVs or ultra-thin laptops of all varieties.

And thats why we know man landed on the. This sh..t always leeks outs...

Sigh! no love from :apple: this year. I will hold on to my iPhone 4 for 12 more months.

One last time before it starts: redesigned iPhone 5 incoming. Get ready.

an ipad engine in my phone? Sign me up.

Dont know why there is so much damn bitching here about no chassis change when the 4 was so darn beautiful.

I don't care if Apple's doomed or not. I'm pretty sure its going to take a minimum of 5 years for Apple to drop down if in case and that too would be just the starting.

But whatever, **** THIS iPhone ****. If the new iPhone is just an upgrade then **** this ****. Tomorrow I get a windows phone for myself that runs another great operating system on it.

Thank you Apple for this wonderful technologies; but seriously, you've disappointed a lot of people this time. Bloody hell. Waited 1.5 years just to get a decent iPhone as the fourth feels miserable in the hand.

Good riddance.

The Apple store is offline! I repeat, the apple store is offline! Dudes, the Apple store(even the Japanese store) are offline to update the store. I hope they are adding the iPhone 5!

Well, there you have it folks. Almost 2 years and nothing but a spec bump.

This seems like an odd strategy in an aggressive market like this but I guess Apple knows what they're doing.

Almost two years? Give me peace, "almost two years".

This is October. The iPhone 4 launched on June 24th last year, so the iPhone 4 only turned 12 months old three months and four days ago.

Two years is 704 days, the iPhone 4 has been on sale for 468 days ... nowhere near "almost two years". In simple terms, it's only 113 days into it's second year on the market.

So.....looks like the hopes for an iphone 5 are dead.

Extremely disappointing. The glass sandwich design was plain stupid and far too delicate for a mobile phone, and the 3.5" screen is extremely limiting for anything other than making calls and flipping through the music app. Games, browsing, typing, etc would all benefit from the 4" screen all the competitors are using.

The recycling of the glass sandwich really pisses me off the most though....can't tell you how many people I know with cracked backs on their iphone 4's, and I barely know anyone who has made it through their contract without cracking the front of their iPhone (any model).

I'll hold my breath a little while longer though...if they replace the back panel with that liquid metal crap they licensed and wedge a larger screen in there, I guess it will do.

Actually, have you used the new interface? It's really quite nice a lot and in many ways superior than the Android/iOS icon model.

I have used demo models and it has a nice look to it but it's still got one problem... If it's not an iPhone it needs to be an Android phone. Customers are just getting the idea that Android phones have the Apps that the iPhone has. There are breakdowns from one model to another but essentially it's the same. Windows Phone 7 doesn't have that guarantee yet (if it ever will).

Because when they did that in 2009 there were few android phones available, the best having 3.2" screen with cpu around 528mhz if I'm remembering correctly. In other words competition was still behind.

I keep seeing this argument and it does not stack up. The iPhone 3GS is still the second best selling device on the market (second only to the iPhone 4) and that's now. Not in 2009. Now. With all the super smashing great Android phones around. The 3GS has a design that is the same as the 3G which came out in 2008!

We're not talking here about the past. We're talking about the present. The difference in the market is, therefore, a moot point.
