Forstall couldn't even be in the same room as Ive without Mansfield being there or someone else from the executive team. Forstall walked around feeling protected when Jobs was alive, but when he moved on, Forstall still walked around like his crap didn't stink.

Look where that got him.

And in my opinion, that is unfortunate. I just don't like the look of iOS 7. I love its functionality ideas (like the "bladed" interface and parallax effect), but
I think the whole "flat" thing is just plain ugly.

I see now why people are saying that it is "Android-ish". I wish Scott and Jony could have come to some kind of compromise.

I said it before, I believe iOS 7 is Jony Ive unrestrained. Steve's (and Scott's) absence is definitely felt here.

For the first time since I first started using Apple products (in 2001), I fear for where the company is heading. It was aesthetics, both in it's amazing OS (Aqua blew my mind) and their hardware design (the iMac G4 is still the most beautiful computer I've seen), that made me gravitate towards Apple products and turned me into a die-hard fan. iOS 7 is strike one, with regards to my taste and Apple's.

I hope Mavericks is not this bad or that'll be strike two. My upgrade path may come to a screeching halt, and I may have to start looking elsewhere. Sad to say, really.

Thankfully, their PC hardware is still waaay ahead of everyone else in my opinion, as aesthetics and implementation goes (best trackpad in history).

Is it Ive or the CEO who keeps pushing thinness as opposed to functionality?
If it's IVE, then i wouldn't mind seeing him go.

Oh really?! Then ask yourself why they have content creation apps like sketchbook pro for artists? I'm a professional and I do NOT finger paint.

I require a stylus. That makes Apple or Steve a hypocrite. After all it was he who ran Pixar in the old days. Pixar artists do NOT finger paint.

Steve blew it as he likes to huff and puff for no reason. He changes his mind like a girl. Seriously.

"Oh we're not in the tablet business. Not our thing.", he once said.

Guess what? They did the iPad. He should've "manned up" and said " yeah. We're looking into it. No comment". He did admit AFTER they decided to do something about the tablet market.

So, in that sense, styluses are far more useful than a finger when it comes to writing and precision point control.
How do you expect anyone to take you seriously? A true artist should never blame the tools available. Do you require precision for water color? Do you require precision for brush painting? Do you require precision for charcoal? No, for those styles, a finger will do just fine.

If you need a stylus, buy an aftermarket one. There is even a pressure sensitive one out there.

Watercolor, charcoal, brush painting and so on are not styles. They're called mediums or disciplines. I know what I'm talking about.

Styluses are needed for this kind of work. Fingers, NO. Wacom bamboo or their latest pressure sensitive stylus works well with the latest iPad.

Oh and one more thing, Wacom tablets are the best in the industry for this reason.

Everyone keeps saying the iPhone came out 7 years ago. I may have lost my mind, but didn't it come out in 2007? We're 2013... wouldn't that be 6 years? (6.25 years)?

I saw some reviewers mention 7 years, now top Apple reps...

What am I missing?

iOS 2 came out with iOS was 1 year old. Each year it's been updated. So iOS 7 should be 6 years.

You're welcome to petition your local government to name a school after him. Or maybe start a campaign for him to receive a honorary degree from Berkeley and give a commencement speech.

Or being the beloved man he is, you could name your child after him. That works too.

Jobs was bigger ******* but you still have his live size poster right next to your bed (with cup of hot milk and cookies).

ivy and fed needed to think about how to make ios7 more fluid like (or smoother) UI rather than focusing on "thinness." Need Forestall back...without his attitude.

"and just get out of the way."

and thats why we have more buttons now in maps and camera app.

Soon to be obsolete, worthless and

on a recycling heap with a lot of other forgotten stuff.

Forstall is history. Gone.

Jony and Scott don't get along and that was a problem. I've never liked Forstall or how he presented himself on stage like a jacka$$. I'm being serious. Every time or for the most part when he comes on stage, the only game he shows off is a driving game besides other objectives he presents.

Scott is gone. I think Cook and Schiller should go and Federighi can take Cook's job. This guy presented himself a bit better than Cook did and managed to do a good job going over the ios presentation. The guy's sharp and gets along with Jony.

i'm not denying that he (forstall) was a jack zzz...but he did prove himself to be in a position that he was in... He had this attitude..sure...He knew how to work iOS....more effectively than ivy. Ivy is good...but in hardware-wise.. I don't mind changes in ios..actually i welcome it...but seriously ios 7 is not fluid like..the previous iOS versions. I can't speak on Federighi himself because i've have to see any improvement. Correct me if i'm wrong..wasn't he suppose to supervise Mountain lion? I agree that Cook needs to be demoted..but not fired...he's known for COO...he's a hustler..not a person with a vision.

Are you under 10 years old? Let's see, a company is working on what it thinks is a killer product. What company would reveal its plans? Hello competitor, I'm working on this product.

iOS 7 is such a mess. I can't wait until the Nexus 5 comes out so I don't have to completely lose my butt on the investment in this iPhone 5. I mean, really? This is the biggest Fisher Price looking POS ever. iMessage and Mail are are so bad. You can't even swipe to delete or edit. I'm moving on and moving forward....

Really? I installed it and was using it comfortably within 10 minutes. And I actually prefer pops of color to faux leather and green felt. The hyperbole around iOS 7 is ridiculous.

I think Craig was supposed to do Mountain Lion and did that, unless that was Schiller? As for Cook, demotion is not a bad idea and a CEO, I think he a bit of a lack of restraint in order to show fortitude to keep everything in check.

Otherwise, I think Federighi is the next best person to take Cook's place as CEO. The guy, I think, can certainly talk and engage the audience. One thing that caught my eye was that he was wearing a very expensive shirt on the day of the presentation unveiling last week and that was a bit distracting. He needs to dress a bit darker to people focus more on what he's saying and what's on the presentation screen. Dress "less loudly" in darker tones so the presentation stands out.

Schiller was okay but at times, he can be a 'loud mouth' attacking back at competitors 'huffing and puffing' when he shouldn't be.

Since Federighi is in charge of software, he can use that experience to improve on that on the next iOS iteration and OS X. Personally, I think Mavericks is a stupid name.

That's not my point, you misunderstand. My point was that Steve LIED. He claimed in some interviews way before the first iPad came out, that Apple wasn't interested in the tablet market which was insulting to my intelligence because it was so damn obvious they were going to do it.

Of course, Apple was going to enter the tablet market. Why feign non-interest when you're really doing it? We're not at war with another country. I'm sorry but the manly thing to do is to say "Yeah, our company is very interested in that market" but not comment further on it.

Look at Cook. He was, at least, HONEST about the tv industry plans. He did'nt LIE. He knows that we KNOW that Apple is EYEING the television market. WHY insult consumers' intelligence when they're really going to do it? They have to stick to their guns and follow through it. Apple did say they were intensely interested in the tv market.

They didn't act coy like a girl and go "Oh, we're not into the tv market" and then do a 180. It's so obvious what's going on with the tv-set box market regarding the Roku and other products. Of course, Apple is going to jump in and try their hand on it.

Tim Cook didn't have to elaborate on actual details. All he had to do was say the company was interested in that market and not comment any further. That simple.

Steve, on the other hand, was acting like a GIRL, feining non-interest and then pulling a 180. What the hell kind of behavior is that? That's not counter-espionage tactics here. That's juvie behavior.

This is just too asinine to go un-commented. So feel special. My only flame-bait response of the last several years.

I won't even waste the electrons to refute your ridiculously shallow and inept assessment of corporate strategy and disclosure.

STEVE LIED!! Oooohhh!!! Go ahead and embroider your name on that dunce cap. I have a feeling it's going to see a lot of use.

I really hope you're embarrassed.

I will say that the pathological and continuous use of "like a girl" is pretty offensive. And reveals more about you than you might want on a public forum. At least a technology one.

Lots of rejection from potential girlfriends? Mother didn't pay attention to you? Can't bring yourself to be honest about your inability to satisfy women or come out of the closet?

If you're going to be a self-important idiotic loudmouth, don't expect any respect.

I'm sure there's a self-help forum for pathetic whiners somewhere. Get your mind in order.

Nice try. I don't need your respect. Here's a hanky for you to cry on. You think you know me but you don't. You can imagine all you want.

But I stand by my view that Steve Jobs lied about Apple's interest in the tablet a few years ago and then did a 180. I remember the pre-iPad furor.

Waste the electrons to refute? How Shakespearean of you.

This is the funniest thing I've read here at MacRumors. It's called misdirection. Apple could be working on a Apple TV. Or not. Apple could be working on an iWatch. Or not. Nobody on the inside has or probably will leak anything until it is very close to production.

Not sure I've ever seen Jony Ive look so happy as these photos. Life after Forstall must be really good in Cupertino. The Bloomberg photo is interesting. They look like they all really get on together. I hope they're smiling because they know what we do don't, namely that they've some more amazing products lined up and ready to go over the next few months.
