I don't know about everyone else, but I'm pretty excited for this event. This will set the precedent for the rest of the year, and I hope they really amaze us.

Not excited. Not one rumor or mention of updating their antiquated MacBook Pro lineup equals an underwhelming and uninspiring event.

Prepare for the disappointment of your life.

If you say so. In my opinion, one of the most boring events was the March 2015 event with the new MacBook and Apple Watch "second unveiling." I'm not expecting anything insanely fantastic, all I hope is that Apple starts off this year strong.

Lot's of people (including myself) are excited about an updated 4-inch phone. Way to troll it up.

I have to say this ... I think it will be a dissapointing event if that's all it ends up being (plus some watch bands, processor upgrades, and an updated iPad we should have seen at the last event), even though I am personally looking forward to getting the new 4" iPhone.

That said, I will be surprised if there's a huge demand for the new phone. I expect it to sell really well, but if Apple sells out within minutes of the online pre-order, and takes a few weeks to fill the initial demand, I may finally call BS on their launch tactics. Again, I think the 4" phone will sell well, but I have no expectations that the 40-50% of those currently using 4" or smaller phones, are going to race out to upgrade to this, especially if the specs aren't flagship. Nor do I think that many 6 or 6s customers will step back.

I expect that I will be able to walk into my local Apple Store and walk out with whichever configuration I want within a week of its release, with no problems.

Only Apple could stage such an event. It's truly amazing how they're able to coast along, make such a weak effort and still get so much attention.

No doubt about that. This rumor was reported on the local LA daily news yesterday. I was stunned anybody would put this on a legitimate newscast, on what was hardly a slow news day with the Nevada Caucuses, etc.

Except that the MBP and MP are NOT Apple's best selling Macs and the iPad Pro is likely not the best selling iPad.
Never said they were, I just said that adding the Pro moniker is a way to increase sales.
See the quote of the post you are referring to:
Marketing Lesson number one from Apple, stick the pro moniker to a redesign and see sales raising!

So another iPad also dubbed as the iPad pro and also 9.7"?

Customer One: "Well I have the iPad Air 2, what do you have?"

Customer Two: "The iPad Pro."

Customer One: "But it looks exactly the same as mine, what's the difference?"

Customer Two: "You can purchase a $100 Apple Pen to use with it, it came out a year and a half later, and it costs $0 more than yours."

There. Fixed that for you.

Right, but my point is it's a neutral moniker at best. Consumers do not opt more for Apple's "pro" versions than non-pro. Now "pro" may be used to justify a higher price point, maybe increase profit margins, but it doesn't necessarily do anything positive to increase sales.

Agreed!

I need a new MacBook Pro 13" with a Skylake CPU NOW!

So I assume, from history, there is a 0% chance for MacBook or MacBook Pro upgrades? I have the 12" MacBook and realized after my 2013 13 MPr to the 12" MacBook, I need a little more horsepower and was waiting for another release to trade it out. Not sure I can wait until June, may need to buy a 13" MBP now and maybe revisit again towards the end of the year.

I don't particularly care about this event, per se. However I am interested to see if they also iterate their laptops at the same time, since work just gave me the go-ahead to purchase one.

I won't hold off till WWDC, but I can wait three weeks...
Exactly my point on a post above. I'll wait a month or two even, but June just isn't doable for me right now.

Except instead of one $650 upgrade now it's going to be one $650 and one $350-$1200 at the same time. Add to that new iPads, Apple TVs and Macs, it's a lot to dump out during the holiday season all at once.

I agree but they have launched a lot of products close together before. Besides, if the new iPad comes out later this month, I would not expect to see another new iPad in September when they traditionally launch new phones. Apple TV is harder to predict but I would be a little bit surprised to see a new one this year since they took several years between the 3rd and 4th generation.

I would love to see a new rMBP this Spring or Summer. I'm running a late 2013 rMBP and I would like to upgrade to something newer but I can't justify spending the money for the minor tweaks they have made to the rMBP over the past 2 years.

I will gladly step up to a smaller phone.

Not if Tim stretches it out with a long preamble (updates: new store opening video, milestone of apps released, "our customers are loving the iPad Pro/Watch/TV/iPhone and here's a video to prove it".. Apple Pay has more banks than before, here's an app developer to demo their new creative app, a reminder that Apple music is great,... etc etc etc!)
..then it's a 2 hour event as usual!
Hahahhahaha. A milestone of apps released! So true! Tim-"We at Apple are proud to announce we have more apps in the App Store than there are people in the world!" That's an App for every man woman and child! Isn't that amazing?!"
-Apple watch is about expressing your individuality and that's why we've been working hard to create monochromatic sports bands. In Hot Pink, forest green, purple grape and mustard yellow!

Our RMBP is even thinner than ever. We had to create a custom battery that can last up to a full 8 hrs! That's a full work day on a single charge. Only 1 port. So easy. The screen has so many pixels you can't tell how sharp with your poor human gorilla eyes.
Best of all we heard our fans. We taking photos is important and that's why we've added an 8 megapixel iSight camera to the front of the MacBook Pro! You didn't even know you wanted it.

-please give a warm welcome to ColdPlay!

Can't wait for this now...I hated my 6+ and hate my 6s and cannot wait to get back to a 4" handset!

I know of a few other people who are looking at chopping out a 6/6+/6s/6s+ for this SE as well ... I think quite a few will hold it and realise it's more natural and comfortable and pocketable!
