"Re/code has confirmed the new date"
I am sorry but the only one who can (has the ability to) 'confirm' is Apple. Anyone and everyone else can ONLY add to the rumor.

You must be new round here...
This is not a black and white definition... The credibility of rumours changes according to a) the source and b) the proximity to the reported date of event/release.
If you look back over the last few years, the event dates and hardware unveilings have almost all been accurately predicted, some many months out, but most in the 1-2 months before.
So whilst everything is a rumour until Apple say it, history has proven that many rumours are true, and we're getting better at knowing which ones are true based on the the 2 factors above.

Same reason why many websites/shops like Amazon already know releasedates and they get "leaked" for many games before the publisher makes it known.

This is going to be the most yawn inducing Apple event since Steve Jobs came back in 1998. And that's saying something after the onionesque theme of the last one "The only things that's changed is everything" event for the iPhone 6S wherein Apple, supposedly the most innovative tech company with literally more money for R&D than any entity on the planet has ever had, showed us how they came up with a cool long press menu option (excuse me, "deep press"... or whatever) and an "iPad Pro" that's as cumbersome as a 13" Macbook Pro but way less convenient to use without a keyboard or track pad. Oh and they sell a keyboard for it.

March 21st seems unlikely.

Holy Week is the worst possible time to launch products, as that weekend is the quietest in the whole year. The week before or the week after would be better.

15" Skylake rMBP or bust.
Typical Macrumors. The device hasn't been presented yet, but people already know that it is pointless.

And meanwhile, the "rotting" Mac is still gaining market share.

What do you expect from a new Mac? Faster processors? Really? There's a reason why people don't buy a lot of new PCs anymore: For quite a while, processors have been fast enough for the vast majority of mainstream applications. So if Apple introduces a new generation of faster Macs, what exactly can they do that the last generation couldn't?

I got the fastest Mac Mini from the previous generation's lineup, and I can't see myself needing anything faster anytime soon. Apple introducing a new generation would just mean that in a couple of years, a new OS X version will obsolete my Mac. I am not unhappy if that doesn't happen.
I put an SSD in my 2012 MacBook and gave it a new lease of life. It's running faster than it did when is was new

Boring.

Bring on the WWDC and the new MacBooks.

Cool story. If you're not interested, don't follow it. I can tell you that a lot of people are interested in a budget iPhone. Oh and a new iPad and Apple Watch bands, huh, you are hard to please.

Do we have any more info on Watch 2? Also, is no redesign confirmed?

Was planning to buy one, but wanted to wait out just to make sure that they don't announce it this keynote.
As long as it's not a redesign and just a S version of the watch, I thought I'd get one now, and use it till it's redesigned.

Side note - Withings watch broke.

Nope, just new Apple Watch Bands this event. There were rumours Apple would introduce an updated version of the current generation but looks like we'll now see the Apple Watch 2 alongside the iPhone 7.

Waiting 18 months after the Watch was unveiled, and offering nothing new but some watch bands seems like a poor decision. If someone hasn't bought an Watch by now, they are unlikely to just because it now comes with a new bright yellow band from Apple's Spring collection.

Releasing both a new phone and a new watch is going to tax customers pocketbooks for the holidays, especially if there are any other new products like TVs, and iPads as there were last year. Then again, maybe Apple will start offering 0% financing with Apple Care + on all their products and customers will be able to justify spending all that money at once broken up into monthly payments.

The abdns are super high margin, they are going after existing owners not trying to lure in new buyers

At least top models of mac should get skylake processor and ddr4. Except the trash-can that I dont think get any update until autumn. Prices on flash has dropped significantly so there should be a big price drop or (more likely) double the sizes.

Marketing Lesson number one from Apple, stick the pro moniker to a redesign and see sales raising!

I sold my Air 2 with the hope that Air 3 would be worth more (silly I know). Anxious to have an iPad again.

AT&T has a 128GB Air 2 with LTE for $605 (certified refurbished) and am very tempted.
I sold my Ipad 3 two weeks ago... I want the new Ipad but if it comes with a much higher price tag I will get the Air 2 instead

Your it it makes sense to pair them together. I almost wish the Apple watch doesn't called Apple watch, but Iphone Companion. Really, that's all it is right now.

Apple watch really doesn't have it's own purpose at this point. If it had the health senses that were rumored, then it would be a game changer.

You're spot it at this point it is more an Iphone companion device; I hope those rumors are true also, oddly I really think the Gen2 Apple Watch will be a good device.

When I think of the other Gen 1 watches/wearables Apple did well, it took a couple of attempts for Samsung to produce the brilliant Gear 2.

Yes, but remember the original iPad went on sale Easter Weekend. I don't think Apple cares about any calendar except its own. It routinely launches products at times that conventional wisdom would say make no sense. That said it maybe perfect timing based on the rumors of what is going to be announced. It will allow Apple to launch them on April 1 :D

Except that the MBP and MP are NOT Apple's best selling Macs and the iPad Pro is likely not the best selling iPad.

If all that is expected to be announced is announced: essentially an iPhone 5c replacement, an iPad Air 2 replacement, and new watch bands, then this will be a pretty short event.

Not if Tim stretches it out with a long preamble (updates: new store opening video, milestone of apps released, "our customers are loving the iPad Pro/Watch/TV/iPhone and here's a video to prove it".. Apple Pay has more banks than before, here's an app developer to demo their new creative app, a reminder that Apple music is great,... etc etc etc!)
..then it's a 2 hour event as usual!

Actually looking forward to these products, want a small iPhone & looking to replace old iPad. I get the hate but I'm glad they're releasing these products.

Why are people expecting a higher price?

Seems like a decent event. Nothing extremely noteworthy, but then again I'm not the kind of person that demands that Apple make everything on my wishlist come true.

The updated 4" iPhone (whatever they call it) is going to make waves, that's for sure.

I don't believe that the iPad Air 3 will get the digitiser for the Apple Pencil.
Apple wants to sell the iPad Pro.

My guess is that they will implement the variable screen refresh rate and upgrade the A9 chip.
The A9X is not really needed for the size / resolution.
BUT, if I'm correct, why release it at all??
It might be a disappointing upgrade.

Regarding the Apple Watch 2, I don't believe it will happen in March.
There has been very little news about watchOS and I believe we have to wait for WWDC for that.
This will be a good time to unveil iOS 10 and the future of watchOS, coming before the holidays 2016.

The iPhone 5se will happen, but I don't think it'll be groundbreaking news.

But the main point I'm waiting for is MacBooks. I really want a new one, thinner, USB-C.
With all the good Skylake features like more PCIe lanes for I/O.

I really hope they pull it off, my MacBook Pro 15er is beyond repair due to water damage and I will
not spend that amount of money for old Intel chipsets.

I know that a lot of my opinions have already been stated.
What I really want to say is, that it might be a disappointing event regarding hardware.

We might all be wrong and they make a big deal about Apple Music and High Resolution Audio for the upcoming
iPhones without a standard headphone connector.

I'm thinking there may be more announcements about accessories that are compatible with the iPad pro's. Maybe more options for the Pencil (colours, textures) or even accessories for the pencil (clips, sleeves etc), but I still think Apple have more up their sleeve that will make use of the smart connector.

That said, I'm not expecting a September style Apple extravaganza event. If it's at their town hall, it's pretty low key anyway.

I'm wondering if there will be additional updates, the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch bands might not take up 1 and a half hours.

Maybe it will go:

iPhone SE 4" with Apple Pay support

iPad Air 3 with Apple Pencil support

Apple Watch bands with a couple of new Apple Watches added in different colours.

MacBook 12" update - it was last year at the same March event that they announced it so a year later would make sense.
