".....Move to iOS is Apple's first Android app, and the app has gained numerous negative reviews in the Google Play Store. Of its 15,230 reviews, 12,184 are one-star reviews. Criticisms in the negative reviews include complaints about iOS, Apple, and that the app uses Apple's design philosophy rather than Google's Material Design....."

Who woulda thought.....

Another couple of good reasons why I never want to release my iOS-only app in Android. What a bunch of whiners.

I love how so many of the complaints include Apple not using Material Design for this when Google's iOS apps don't follow iOS's standard design either but rather their own Material Design.

good, apple should focus on apple products not android apps

What??? The purpose of the app is to help Android users move to Apple products. Your condemning something for doing exactly what you say it should be doing. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

I feel I have a legitimate reason to give it one star because of this: https://www.macrumors.com/2015/05/20/apple-rejects-breaking-app/

Its not a legitimate reason to give it one star, as it has nothing to do with the app being reviewed.

It is a legitimate reason to complain about Apple's practises though. The irony of Apple not allowing a mention of Android in an iOS app, while creating their own app for Android to convert customers over (that would mention iOS and Apple countless times) hasnt been lost on me.

I'm going to start fresh when I get my 6S Plus. It's a lot of crap on my One M8, that I don't want on my new iPhone. So it's going to feel good starting fresh.

Always a good move, otherwise you might turn super saiyan in outrage.

So the app works great? Most of the 1 star reviews are b/c of design rather than function? If thats the case than thats fine. I dont have an Android device to check for myself so

The Apps is working perfectly. What the Android users rate is not the Apps but the Apple and iOS, and who cares if their fanboyism rate it negatively 1 star. Apple fans are far better by giving Google Apps a fair assessment.

That doesn't make a lot of sense in reference to Android apps specifically designed to make it easier to start using Apple products.

Actually it makes perfect sense. They hire and pay for android experts while focusing on iOS development. Instead of hiring android devs.

Android fanboys are insanely stupid. I'm an android user but I gave this app a 5 star review after seeing all the negative reviews of iOS being used on the review page. Apple make great products and iOS Is a wonderful operating system, I do think it needs to be a little more flexible but that's more apples policy's rather than the products themselves.

What I find particularly silly about the "doesn't use Material Design" complaint is that Google does the same basic thing in their iOS apps - they use their own design, rather than iOS-standard design. So those complainants should give all of Google's iOS apps a bad rating, too.

Why would the UI design even matter if you're using the app to switch away from Android? A person who uses this will be getting rid of either the app or the entire phone after the process is complete anyway.

It's like complaining that an Xfinity flyer that says "Switch to us from U-verse" isn't designed in AT&T's colors.

Android enthusiasts are especially hostile and protective of their platform. They're not just fans, but extremists. The irony is that they call any and all Apple users fanboys, when theyre the ones who behave irrationally and sheepishly. It literally pains them to see Apple successful. Whereas on iOS, Google apps are consistently some of the most used apps on the platform. As well as Microsoft apps. Apple users are apparently such fanboys, yet the majority of serious Apple fans seem to behave with a level of maturity that makes these Android enthusiasts look like children.

Funny how they complain about the UI. They hate Apple products, yet every single one of their Android products has significant Apple influence. Obviously iOS has some influences from Android, but not the fundamental framework of how the entire interface works. It just always makes me laugh. Someone saying "I hate Apple products!" While typing on a glass multitouch display virtual keyboard that has the letters appear above your finger when pressed, inside of a WebKit browser, scrolling with momentum based physics that makes the page feel like it's floating, inside of a black or white rectangular slate that has the entire front surface covered by glass including the bezels. Yea, they hate the iPhone so much, that's why they use a phone that functions exactly the same way.

Good for you! Myself, I have contacts on my now fifth iPhone that originated on my Palm Pilot, then Handspring Trëo and then the iPhones.

Yikes, they had to go as far as "You can recycle this phone at any Apple Store."

Absolutely. Instead of throwing your phone away and causing damage to the environment, you can take it to an Apple Store and Apple will make sure it is recycled properly. The same goes for any computer in many countries. Apple is doing a lot for the environment; in this case they _have_ to tell people about it because recycling doesn't work if people don't bring their android phones for recycling.

So you refuse to sell your app and make money because of a possible bad review? Either the app is not good enought or you are already making enought money that you don't need to gain more.
