Apple's Multi-Touch Magic Mouse Now Shipping

The Glasgow store in Scotland has LOADS. Just gotten back and they had a lot of stock on the shelves.

Nice packaging - similar to the iPod Shuffles/Nano's with the glass box. Very nice.

re:Form

More form over function from Apple.

I just hooked mine up. Works well, scroll is a lot better/smoother and fast scrolls decelerate smoothly. The two finger gestures work reasonably well.

I'm sure I'll find something to pick at, but haven't yet.

had mine for 3 days now.....its great, im just not a fan of the 2 finger swipe its not easy to do it to the left....although im getting better at it

For those of you in the NY or Long Island area, the Apple Store at Walt Whitman Mall has them for sale individually as of noon today.

The one at Roosevelt Field does NOT have them. Tried calling the new Manhasset store also, but no one is picking up.

How will this affect the battery life in the new 13" MBP (june 2009)? Im new to MAC and im wondering if it will severely drain the battery from the 13" MBP as it uses bluetooth.

I always turn off bluetooth to save power to make my MBP battery last longer. If say i normally get 5 hours time surfing/typing/playing games on the 13"MBP while the bluetooth is turned off, how much time will i get now if i start using the new Magic mouse with bluetooth? Will the time decrease to 4hours? 4.5 hours? etc?

Thanks

I would estimate that Bluetooth uses the least energy of all the things that could drain your battery (DVD drive, heavy processing, screen brightness, Wi-Fi, etc.) On a five-hour battery, bluetooth might shave off 10 minutes of your battery life. I wouldn't even worry about it, unless you're doing critical work with 30 minutes left on your computer's battery!

Any sightings in the Toronto (Canada) Apple Stores?

I'm unable to visit them myself, and can't seem to get anyone on the phone to confirm their availability...

I went to Eaton Centre Apple Store yesterday, none.

They said they didn't know and come back "next week".

I ordered online on the 21st was due for delivery 29th to 3rd I received an email today delaying the delivery to the 11th to 15th Nov.

Luckily I was visiting Cambridge (UK) today and went to the Apple store saw they were in stock and bought it cancelling the online order. :)

In case anyone cares the Apple store in Exeter, UK has them in stock.

I picked up one this morning, and so far so good I can once again scroll down as my Mighty Mouse had become clogged and no amount of rolling it upside-down on some paper could help.

Was first person to get mine at the King Street store in Charleston, SC.

I called around 11 and they had just received the shipment. They were still in the back because they had to put on the stickers that were lacking because it was a rush shipment. They Genius came out telling all the staff, "These are ready to sell".

FedEx delivered about an hour ago. So far, I like! The edges do feel a bit sharp, but certainly not uncomfortable or anything. It's just "different". :)

I LOVE the scroll with momentum! It makes short work of LONG web pages! :) Tracking seems very precise and clicking, frankly, seems more defined and definite than the Mighty Mouse. THUMBS UP!

For a moment, I was concerned about the missing Mouse Preference Pane settings for the secondary (right) button. It just had on or off and I like to use my right button for Exposé All Windows. But then I looked in the Exposé Preference Pane and found I could still turn All Windows on for the right button!

So far.... two thumbs up! I purchased just one and I'll see how it goes. I have to let my wife borrow it for a few days to see if she likes it. I suspect I'll be buying one for her too! :)

Magic Mouse purchased at Charlotte Apple Store

I purchased my Magic Mouse today from the Apple Store in Charlotte, NC and I love it. I am replacing a BT Mighty Mouse. For those interested:

The BT Mighty Mouse with 1 AA battery installed weighs 103g
The BT Magic Mouse with 2 AA batteries installed weighs 99g

(each mouse was measured on a Pitney Bowes digital scale)

Even though they are within 4 grams of each other in weight, the Magic Mouse feels MUCH lighter. It is much easier to move on the mouse pad. I am very happy with the responsiveness and with the functionality.

I know that computer mice are a personal preference. I really like everything about the Magic Mouse.

As always, your mileage may vary.

Tomorrow, Tomorrow....

frak! I ordered just after the announcement and mine is still prepared for shipment.

Ordered mine on Tue when they were announced. Shipped Tuesday of this week. Delivery is scheduled for tomorrow. Now I have an unused Mighty Mouse that I bought as a spare to sell if I like the Magic.

Shipped today UK

Seems mine has shipped, Thats the good news, The bad is that its coming via Royal Mail so i may have a wait.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Thanks Messers Brown and Co

May go and buy one in store:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Got It. Love it.

Just got mine a few hours ago. I'm getting my muscle memory trained. The only thing I haven't mastered is the by touch right click. Sort of like patting your head and rubbing your tummy kind of hard.

Everyone at the office thinks it looks great. With my laptop on a stand, and a BT keyboard I finally have a touch input device. I'm not sure how will this will work with my at home three LCD set-up. I'll try it later tonight at home. My guess is that my trackball will remain my input device on my three LCD desktop. But for the laptop on a stand this was worth the price.

Any changes in NYC stores since this morning? I'm unable to call until 3:45...

The 5 Avenue and 14th street Stores are still waiting for them - looks like sometime next week.

They have, however, arrived at the Rockaway Mall and Short Hill's Mall Stores in NJ.

I saw your reviews on YouTube - very well presented & enjoyable!. It seems the whole Apple/American culture has got the better of you with ghastly phrases such as "gotten" :D - that word doesn't even make sense!. :p

Ahh, Royal Snail - I hate to say this, but I wouldn't hold your breath - they're probably out on strike still, over something as ridiculous as a 2p wage increase refusal. LOL!
