Ya I saw that in a spec I was looking at but didn't bring it up cause you know god forbid I was wrong...

I was actually looking to find what version of BT it had which is the same as the 4s (4.0). Interested in seeing if my ford sync will read messages back. It supposed too but never worked with any of my android phones.

Indeed, they could. However, it requires a HUGE amount of processing power to emulate that ( ask anyone who had to run windows on a PPC Mac ), I doubt it would be useable :p

Well, I do have iDOS installed on my iPhone 4 that was in the app store for a day or so before Apple pulled it. I have Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 there. Windows 3.1 works great, but 95 is pretty slow. Also, there is no network support, or sound support, or pretty much any support for anything. It boots and you can play solitaire or minesweeper or edit txt files in notepad and that's pretty much it. I'm sure iPhone 5 will run it much better.

Ah, half the memory of the S3

Yeah, half the memory and double the performance. I'm sorry, the S3 is NOT a great device. It's clumsy, cheap plastic, loaded with bloat, and isnt as smooth as people claim it is. I sat down with it for a while and was nervous that it might make me second guess getting the iPhone 5. Well, im happy to say it had exactly the opposite effect. It's got a lot of bells and whistles, most of them useless in real world use (although it did have a few cool things), and that's about it. IMO iPhone blows it away. And the build quality doesn't even compare a little bit. Keep ur S3. And I'll gladly keep my iPhone.

First of all...good news. Secondly, what is with all this blind Apple fandom? Comments right now say "spec bull..." and "who cares" but the moment the spec sheet on the Macs comes out it's "OMG! I told you Apple is better than Windows!"

This sort of crazed Apple "Yes Man" fever is what almost killed Apple when it started shoving out crappy products like printers, Newton, and point-and-shoot cameras in the past.

Apple makes great products...yes. I own a ton of them. But they don't always make perfect products.

Why there is label with samsung's part number if A6 is produced by TSMC? Or I have missed something...

My question is - will all these upgraded specs matter that much when app developers will still intend to support the iphone 4 and 4s? Thus, they are still likely to program to the lowest denominator. The result may be apps that don't take full advantage of the iphone5's improved specs. So we may not see much impact beyond being able to hold more pages in memory or slightly faster loading time on apps.

Hey, i hav a question about RAM. The next time Apple upgrades the iphone ram does it go to 2GB or can it go to 1.5?

In essence, does the ram always double and why?

So a jump from 512MB ram to 1GB is greater than from 256MB to 512MB?

This might sound silly now, but that is the best news I have heard in years. It will add years to its life cycle.

Mock me now than check with me in 4 years.

. . . it's only through big.LITTLE (or other clever techniques) that the A15 would be suitable for smartphones . . .

. . . benefiting from some previous company acquisitions including P.A. Semi and Intrinsity, both chip design companies . . .
Further, GPU is the future.

Great.. Now I dunno if I should just wait till next year to get my new iPod touch with 1GB ram and the A6. Uggh I hate this, I've already waited 3 years. I really am afraid of getting a new touch only to have them start releasing games that only run on the iPhone 5...

Awesome, they pretty much increased all I wanted them to increase (save storage but since I'm coming from a 4 I at least can get more storage than I had before).

I couldn't agree more. I felt the same way after playing with the s3. Specs are nothing if they're not optimized for the software. Apple has it right with the hardware and software.

Ah, half the memory of the S3 ;)

But really, that is a nice upgrade, the iPhone REALLY needed it.

If apple can outperform samedung with half the ram, then it would appear that apple engineeres are twice as smart? Perhaps more like four times given the formula:

Smart engineering = f_performance{ R(1/ram)^2 - Q(1/ram)}

Where R is an optimization function and Q is a covariance penalty function for customer satisfaction.

Thing is, the iPhone doesn't perform twice as good as an S3, it has less features, less power, the battery life doesn't seem like it'll be as good. And ICS is better than iOS6

Can you be specific in what features the S3 has that are missing in the iPhone 5?

Same for ICS versus iOS 6. I've only had a few chances to use a droid phone and they've always felt unintuitive to me, but I can think of a few things I'd like to see changed/added to iOS......
