Because they haven't added NFL yet since there'd be nothing to display for it. Why is this such a difficult concept for people to grasp?
Apple has released a new app. Whether or not there are scores for one of the teams I want to follow, I want to add all of my favorite teams. It's part of exploring the app and making it useful as the year progresses. Why is this such a difficult concept for people to grasp?

For the 100th time...

This app only displays scores and standings by design. So if a sport is not currently in-season, there's no rush to have it there so you can stare at an empty screen for months. The NFL will be there when there are actual scores to display.

Good grief.

@turbineseaplane thanks for the thumbs down as feedback, care to reply and say how what I said is wrong or just going to be passive aggressive instead?

Thank you. Sheesh. It's been painful to read all the whining about seeing NFL scores, when the Super Bowl just ended.

The "no live activities" refrain on here seems a bit overblown. Live activities are available through the TV app with the same favorites you select in this app, as well as the same data. Presumably, Apple will eventually move them to the Sports app. But it seems petty to care which app controls them.

Oh didn’t know that. But now that you mention it, I have seen them from time to time. Good to know where they came from.

Step 1: make a new sports tracking app
Step 2: include all the major european football leagues
Step 3: don't bother releasing it in Europe
👌

It is in Europe, well in the UK at least.

However it only seems to have the Premier League for football which makes it useless for me

And sports tracking doesn't extend to Live Activities on the Lock Screen/Dynamic Island which is just weird

Someone at Apple thought this was needed??? Is the App Store supposed to have apps that solve this?
The issue is, lots of sports apps out there have a bunch of stuff I don’t care about, like video commentary, ads, editorials, etc. An app with just scores taking up the entire screen is nice. The closest thing out there is Sports Alerts. I do like Apple’s design a bit more.

The only issue is that the only leagues that seem to support it are MLB and NBA. You would think that since Apple has the exclusive rights to broadcast MLS games, they would at least have live activities for that.

I've noticed the Fast Company article doesn't even mention Live Activities now. Maybe Apple told them to remove that because they don't want people to get the impression it supports any game and league in the app.
